Preseason Top 25

Featured Replies

Please someone tell me how Lex Cath can be ranked in the top 5. There not even the best team in Lexington. I would say they're the 5th best team in the region behind SC, BS, HC, MC.

Novosel is not even the best player in the city so why does that make Catholic a legitiment top three team in the state??????

IMO they are top 5 because they have Novosel, Stewart and Smart. They have complimented each other well since the sixth grade. As long as they stay healthy Catholic will be hard to beat. Beat HC badly in the pre-season last year (Novosel got a broken nose for his troubles), beat Tates Creek 2 of 3, beat MC at their place. Don't think they played BS. Novosel and Stewart are good at drawing fouls inside, and that usually takes the other teams out of their game. Have these other teams improved that much?

Plus Lex Cath has a very nice player in Botkin.

Agreed. Plus with Sanford/Corbin/Tribble should make a very formidable first 7 + some other guys who can help out in the frontcourt. They will have a problem though if Novosel goes down.

Botkin is a player!!!! Assuming Sanford is eligible this year, LC will have one of the top gaurd combos in the 11th with these two.

I have never been a big Botkin fan. He struggled against the red heat. LC should be motivated - their last game in 2006-07 was :scared:  :walk: ;) :sssh:

Is this June's older brother or were there enough Stepps that they needed to build another school up there?

Sorry messed up on that!! Pretty funny though!!

Interesting to see some very small schools in there with the big boys.

Kentucky could easilly have two teams in the national spotlight early. Scott and Mason counties will be ranked in the nations top twenty early. Scott co will be in first top ten in the USA today come late November.

Paducah Tilghman will be a legitimate top-25 team ... perhaps even top 15.

My guess is they will be motivated this year. Yes, many struggled against Scott Co. last year, one of the best high school teams in KHSAA history.

Obviously I am a Botkin fan, and Sanford will give Lex Cath another dimension. They may be calling it the "Blue Heat" before the season is over.

Isn't the blue flame hotter than the red flame;)

The rematch should be intense.
