I simply said the UC D would be one of the best in the nation. I also said the same about the UK O. Homerism at its finest...

I'm forced to ask this follow up question. Why is it good to have so many returning players from a bad defense? I would assume you think they have improved over the off season. Where do you think the improvement will be felt?

You forget that most of the starters on D last year were either freshmen or sophomores. UKs D improved quite a bit the last 2 games of the season. They held Clemsons #1 rushing attack to next to nothing in the Music City Bowl last year. Ill say this right now and laugh if you want. But, if UKs D can hold opponents to 21 points or less this year. The Cats will be in hunt in the SEC. I look for Jarmon and Pryor to have breakout years. Woodyard and Lindley will build on the success they had last year. Micah Johnson and David Jones will finally start living up to their hype. The Wildcats are just as talented on that side of the ball as they are on Offense. This year it will show IMO.

What I want to know is if a team supposedely can't get any better than what they were the year before (See GT's arguement for UK), then how can UC's defense be so darn good? Have they just always been that good? Were they never bad? Did they always have a good D-coordinator? Did none of their players improve throughout their college careers or were they all just as good as they are now when they set foot into Nippert?

Maybe.....Just like you.;)

I'm rubber you're glue.

Let's all be realistic here. UK is going to win their games on offense. Their defense just has to keep them from losing games. They should put up big points, the hope is that they don't give up an astronimical amount of points.

I really thought the Clemson game was the best I've seen their secondary look since I've been going to games from around 1980. Woodyard is tough inside. The Dline and the Oline are the big question marks which isn't a good thing. I expect them to be decent on the backend especially now that Jones is over there but they are a little on the scary side up front.

The real good news is Archer is gone so maybe we don't sit back on teams like Florida and UofL etc. Like it or not guys like Douglas and high school boys from Florida can run! We constantly sit back and hoped we could run with them. I think we'll see more pressure this year.

I also think Coach Smith will start paying off in the next couple of years. Remember he inherited the guys he has. Once he starts bringing HIS kind of players in at LBer I expect them to take a big step up in run game defense.

I'm rubber you're glue.

Nice....

Can't we all just get along..

Maybe but what fun would that be??

No need for BGP then..lol

^:thumb: If everyone agreed and got along this would be a pretty boring place. :D

I get along with everyone... :D

Defense? Whats that? Do you think I buy my season tickets to see UK's defense? I say score 50 to 60 a game and forget about it.
