August 7, 200719 yr My big problem right now is the freezer I have in the garage. I usually don't keep the doors open, but with all the heat and humidity that freezer working hard.
August 8, 200719 yr I know a little about that humidity stuff. Remember, it could be worse. I just checked Channel 6 where you are it shows 90 degrees with 56% humidity so the heat index (feels like) is 99. Using the same site Tampa is 89 with 71% humidity and a heat index of 103. That's what humidity can do. I can't walk out to my car without drenching my shirt and it's hasn't rained yet. When that happens, it'll cool about 3 or 4 degrees during the rain then shoot back up into the 90s and the humidity will go to 80%. It turns everything into a sauna. The air is so heavy, you can't breath. I hate this time of year. My electric bill last month was $275. I'll trade ya. Right now anyway. I'm going to be up there in a couple of weeks and I can't wait. August 8, 200719 yr For football, one of my duties it to use a digital psychrometer to take a heat and humidity reading and then plot it on a chart to give the heat index. At 8:00 tonight the heat index was...............108. And, no...our team did NOT practice outside.

August 15, 200719 yr Drove by the bank on the way home and it read 108 degrees (earlier in the day it read 111). I checked the weather channel when I got home and it said the actual temperature is 103... feels like 106... Gotta love the summer
August 15, 200719 yr Everytime I step out of the cab of my truck after riding around with the AC going, when I get out the air is so bad it seems like it's hard to breathe in. Fall weather is more to my liking.
