I agree that what they did was not right but Felony??? C'mon now, these are kids and I do not think that anything like a sex offense was intended at all. I wish the authorities would spend more time on trying to convict on more serious matters.

 

Punish the boys and make sure that that kind of act out of anyone will not be tolerated- absolutely, w/o a doubt.

To call these kids sexual predators is way over the top, but that's the overly PC world we live in today. I mean, 10 years in juvenile detention and a lifetime on the sex offender registry for this is just plain STUPID!.

Slapping a rear-end is not sex abuse. Plain and simple. The statutes defining that crime define it as "contact with the genitalia" and also that it is done for "the purpose of sexual gratification." This is ridiculous. Why weren't the girls charged if its so offensive? Who pressured the girls to give false statements? This case stinks of Mike Nifong type behavior by the prosecutors and school officials. Getting smacked on the hind end does not affect your morale forever. If you don't like it, get your brother to find the boys after school and beat the tar out of them.

 

And LBBC, if you're the school, when you get the complaint from the parents, you say, "We've suspended the boys for a week and removed them from the sports team as punishment, until they learn how to behave properly. If they do it again, they'll be expelled." When the parents threaten a lawsuit, give them the number for your lawyer. Schools have insurance policies that give them free lawyers. Too many school districts are afraid to fight ridiculous cases with a jury. They need to get some brass and stand up and say 'No.'

Exactly!!

This isn't an option for the school, but an option for the girls involved may be to induce a swift kick to the groin.:confused:

My daughter and I have had a discussion. I told her that if anyone ever puts their hand where they shouldn't, the next time I see that boy, I want to see a bruise in the shape of her palm print across his cheek.

 

And if she is suspended from school for it, I will take the day off, take her to a movie, out to eat, buy her an outfit and spend the day with her. (For a preteen girl, spending the day shopping with her dad may be seen as a punishment.)

 

We have had numerous talks that she does not have to let them do, say or touch her in any regard that she does not allow.

 

Also, I am trying to teach my son that he should treat women with respect and if he does something like that, he should be expected to be slapped by her and I will wear his tail out when he gets to me.

I understand all of that and have been through a case that charges were made up against me and the final result said that. Didn't make it any easier on me or my family as we went through the days of investigation and waiting on the decision.

I am telling you that the attitude that some of the boys have with girls is horrible. There have been incidents of trading sexual favors from their girlfriends for things. They believe they are pieces of property. And FOR WHATEVER REASON, the girls go along with it, too many times.

I think the whole "charging minors as adults" thing has gotten way out of hand. What happened to using a little common sense?

I kinda like what Bufford Pusser did with unrulely kids and that was hand-cuff them together and have them do yard work out in front of the school and around the court house yard as there punishment. Recently, my family and I visited Bardstown. Went to the old county jail and saw the stocks out in front. Put both of my kids in them to let them see how criminals used to be treated. Began to wonder if stocks in front of the courthouse wouldn't be a good thing, once again.

I have no problem with it at all either as a parent of a good kid or bad. If they can't behave themself then restrain them for a while. After a couple of hours they would be having cell phone with-draws. Works for me!!
