July 24, 200719 yr Where the family restrooms!!!!!! I was standing patiently with my 7 year old girl back in May when some inconsiderate low-life guy made us wait for about 5 minutes while he smoked in the family restroom. You couldn't even bare the smell when we entered. All i got out it was oh well!!!! A few bad apples give the majority of the bushel a bad rap. Smokers are nasty horrible losers who should be thankful the non-smokers let them in this world.
July 24, 200719 yr I wish that was the case...I'm a ridiculously large tipper, if the service is good. Some new places downtown have opened that are doing very well. Lines around the block to get into the Cadillac Ranch downtown every Friday and Saturday. The Lodge is great, and the new Havana Martini Club is still my favorite. Also Sully's is about 5-6 months old and always crowded. These are all downtown. Trendy and new places will survive in the short term because of the novelty factor. It's the Mom & Pop corner watering hole that's going to go out of business.
July 24, 200719 yr But you're not going to have anyone to talk to because they are just about empty. The Ohio smoking ban is the best thing to happen to NKY bars EVER! I suspect actual numbers would prove you wrong. Since Florida's voters put a smoking ban in the state constitution (after the legislature refused to lift a finger), restaurant revenues are up. People find a smokefree environment more pleasant than a smoky one ... who would have suspected that? Of course, the fact that smokers put their car windows down when they smoke while driving should have indicated that even smokers don't like the smell.

Florida doesn't have a major metro area on the state line where people have an option to cross the river. Also, you are talking about restaurants, I'm talking about bars.....big difference. The Florida law is also different than Ohio's, in Florida if your food revenue is below "X" (don't know the exact amount) you are permitted to smoke.

After the game was waiting to take my kids in there and a lady came out along with a cloud of smoke. I told an employee there and they told it happens all the time. If that is the case then they need to have people posted outside of those rooms and catch the violaters.
July 25, 200719 yr I have not returned to either stadium in Cincinnati. There was a great place by the river at Great American Ball Park that did not bother anyone. Let's also prohibit selling beer to intoxicated jerk's.
July 25, 200719 yr This thread has really turned into The Smokers vs. The Drinkers. What time can we schedule the rumble?
July 25, 200719 yr What if we are both. I have no problem with the non-smoking in eating establishments. I hate when people smoke when I hate but Bars and outside at games I don't get really.
July 25, 200719 yr This thread has really turned into The Smokers vs. The Drinkers. What time can we schedule the rumble? All the smokers have to do is give the drinkers enough to get them wobbly and the smokers win!
July 25, 200719 yr I don't smoke but have no problem with people smoking. What does pop my cork is when I see people throw their cigarette butts on the ground.
July 25, 200719 yr The greatest George Carlin quote of all time. "Putting a smoking section in a restaurant is like putting a peeing section in a pool. "
July 25, 200719 yr All the smokers have to do is give the drinkers enough to get them wobbly and the smokers win! Better schedule it before happy hour to insure a fair fight.
