July 19, 200719 yr Would you make this deal? Dunn to the Brewers for Matt Wise, Tony Gwynn Jr and SS prospect Alcides Escobar. Yay or nay? Why would I ? I get a 32 year old relief pitcher who is OK. I get a kid who POTENTIALLY could be solid and I have no clue who the third guy is. The only way you make this is to then use Dunn's money to get better pitching. That's a crapshoot since we see many FAs who underachieve (Burnett, Zito, etc) and take up a large portion of a payroll. I'm almost to the point now where I'd be comfortable next year with Harang , Arroyo, Homer, Dumatrait, and the Livingston vs having the Reds bungle a FA acquisition and give up top-notch offense.
