Adidas It Takes 5ive AAU Tournament

#5 for the Ohio Gators looked like he will be a player. Looked like he had a good pull-up shot and just a good player overall.

Another player that caught my eye was #24 for KC Pump-n-Run (I believe).

On that hoopstar website they have him top 15 for his class. I don't know the credibility of the site. But they seemed to have the other marquee names on it to. He is certainly not projected to be a cigar player. He should be an impact player hopefully. And during team turmoil 2 under Tubby everyone said "We need more KY kids who understand what it means to play for UK."

If it's not rivals or scout, I wouldn't take the rankings too seriously....

2009 Wallace Judge from the 16 DC Assault was the kid that just "looked the part" for me in that group. Total baby face and SLIM frame at a legit 6'8" that has a lot to learn from what oozed to be new found height. Almost clumsy with equal parts brilliance. He sums up the first two days of action for me...

From what I saw, he really needs to learn how to finish.

.

He easily had one of the better strokes on Saturday.

Who is kentucky shining stars???

Shining Stars is an organization put together by former UC walkon Alex Meachem. There are probably 5 or 6 teams in the group with teams from KY and OH.

#24 is Travis Releford he is committed to Kansas. I think he is a top 50 player in 08.

There was a kid on a team (maybe KC) that had the same last name as a KU player. Goulsby maybe.

Then he "Gillespie" should have locked in Chad Jackson first. Euton is going to be a good one theres not doubt, he is tall, can shoot the three and will be fine at UK. Chad Jackson is who I am hearing has OJ Mayo skills.

Not close. Very good player, but OJ was polished at that age with no weaknesses.

Missed the tourney for the LBJ Camp. Below is what one person reported on another hoops site regarding a few players from the Bluegrass:

"Based on what I witnessed, that's a huge if. Right now he's (Chad Jackson) strictly a penetrator, he airballed the first free throw he (Jackson) shot and didn't make a shot from outside the paint the entire game.

Not trying to knock the kid, just reporting what I saw.

Euton on the other hand, has a nice stroke and puts nice rotation on the ball. The Jenkins kid is even a better shooter than Euton. He's a legit 6'4" and has a great pull-up jump shot. Picturesque actually. He pulled up and nailed a three in transition amidst heavy traffic that was remenescent of JJ Redick, very impressive.

Jenkins had over 20 points on the best 16-under team (I forget their name, they were out of DC), and every shot he made was contested. He's a pretty good athlete too."

By the way, Hopson was only Kentucky kid showing at the LBJ skills camp.

Who ended up winning the 17u tournament? My guess would have been either Pump N Run or Atlanta Celtics.

Age or grade OJ's about 23 now isn't he?;)
