I see why Billy G is all over Golden. He had 33pts today in a game (18 first half) and had six 3's. I think Euton played well and had around 17pts or so one game.

The Chris Singleton kid from the Atlanta Celtics is definately a player. He is about 6'9 and very smooth. The kid can do it all.

I was sitting in row 1 center court for both Atlanta Celtics 17 team games, and he lived up to the hype I have been hearing about him from the Atlanta area for quite some time. Very impressive young man...

Saw a couple of games this morning. Zeller didnt play his best game today but those 8am games can be tough on you especially when you played a few games the day before. His team was playing Pump N Run Elite out of Cali which had guys like Jrue Holiday, Reeves Nelson, and Jeff Withey. Holiday I believe is the top rated SG in the 08 Class and I believe Rivals has him #2 overall. He is very smooth and almost dunked on Zeller today but it rimmed out an he was called for a charge anyway. Nelson played well he's a hard nosed guy who has a good motor and battles on the court. Indy Elite really didnt have anyone who could guard him.

 

The other game I saw was Atlanta Celtics and Ohio Basketball Club. Singleton didnt play bad but it looked like he was in some foul trouble and kept him on the bench some. There's a kid on his team Derrick Favors who is a 6'9 guy who is very good. I'd love to have him on my team, he did a nice job going against BJ Mullens who is a top 5 guy in 08. GT's boy Yancey Gates had a nice game this morning also.

 

Its a whose who of college coaches there, I saw Billy G, Roy Williams, Kelvin Sampson, Tom Crean, Thad Matta, Mick Cronin and some other big time coaches.

 

Im going back over in a little while, Trae Golden is playing against Euton and his squad at 1:20 so Ill be sure to catch that.

Celtics won by 1 or 2. Sloppy game. Golden is very, very good. Physically strong, very good stop-and-pop in the lane, strong passer.

 

Euton did not play well. Let me preface this with the fact this was the first time I've ever seen him play. These kids play a lot of games in a short period of time so who knows what level of play you're seeing. With that, he's OK. He has plenty of time to a)get stronger b)get quicker c)develop any sort of low post game and d)work on ball handling. His outside shot was not good today but you can tell he knows how to shoot. He plays very hard which is refreshing to see.

 

The Jackson kid from RH has a chance to be VERY good. It will be interesting to see how both of these boys progress over the next 3 seasons.

 

Euton/Jackson's team , without a doubt, has the most intense AAU coach in this tourney. Hands down. Ask the Flannery kid from Boone.

Kyle Tackett went to SK and played on the 81 state championship team with Troy McKinley? I know/knew a lot of those guys and I do not remember this guy.

I was standing directly behind him for that game, and he wasn't very nice in the huddle... :lol:

I'd give a report but my brain is pretty much mush after getting all my work done and trying to watch some of the better match ups in between. I came away very impressed with Golden. Great body control, loves to take the big shot and just seems to command the floor.

 

I talked to one of the organizers today and he said it would be back next year and they are going to keep a limit on the number of teams so the even can stay on campus. It was a big plus for the fans, coaches and scouts because you didn't have to bounce from location to location to see all the action.

Pretty much everything you said was spot on. I'd lock up Golden as soon as possible if I was Gillispie, he looks like he is going to be a PTP'er.

BJ Mullens looks fairly athletic. He could do well at Ohio State.

The big man for the Florida Rams, who I think is a Gator commit, looks solid.

Kenny Kadji is one big dude, and has a better game than I expected. He is indeed a Gator verbal...

I saw Euton play on Friday and he doesn't excite me at all......Looks to me to be a very average player. I hope his game gets better in the next couple years. He seems really soft and doesn't rebound very well for his size. I wasn't that impressed.........:confused:
