Based on the article I read yesterday, as long as thing goes over well this year, the plan is to keep this tournament at UC every year. If so, then this could be a great recruitment tool for UC, even though coaches are not allowed to talk to the players.

The summer camp scene has changed somewhat.

Sonny Vaccaro has taken his ball and gone home. He patented the ABCD, Big Time, and one other summer camp name.

Reebok is having Reebok U in Philly I believe, and Nike is doing a more individual instruction camp using LeBron James's name in Cleveland.

Adidas has gone to the AAU theme in Cincy.

I'm guessing if the LeBron Camp and Reebok U, where most of the top flight kids will be...Nike that is, bombs in a certain sense, then you will see a move back to the traditional camp scene.

It's good for UC that some kids will get to see the campus....however it will not have the impact as say the Tournament of Champions Camp in Chapel Hill/Durham and so forth where kids can talk to coaches and so forth.

Ten bucks a day for public....is that correct?

Had a blast today. The set up was very convenient and there were a ton of big name coaches hanging around. Billy G got settled in just in time to watch Trae Golden at 1:30 and he was still there when I left about 30 minutes ago. Of the 15 and under players I saw, Golden looked like the best prospect. Action started off sloppy in the 17 u pool play this morning, but it got better in the second set of games this afternoon and evening. Should be a good day of action tomorrow...

I went today and about every coach in the country was there. I met BCG and my son got his autograph......very nice guy. The Chris Singleton kid from the Atlanta Celtics is definately a player. He is about 6'9 and very smooth. The kid can do it all.........If you can get to UC this weekend it will be well worth it..:thumb:

From some of the reports I read Golden was very good...played a little out of control but hit perimeter shots and drives to the basket.

Euton played fairly well and some believe he is going to fill out to around 6'10 and some compare him to having a Scott Padgett type game.

GJ Vilarano did not make the trip.

Read that Zeller was solid as usual.

Chris Singleton evidently just blew up today...

Some have said that a lightly recruited 2G from Toledo emerged big time. Ryne Smith or something like that, in the 2008 class...went for 30+ against a Texas squad and hit all kinds of perimeter shots.
