Myrtle Beach Eateries

TGF if you do not mind what is a short drive to Murrellss Inlet to the south then Drunken Jacks is excellent. By far my favorite, they have great seafood as do a lot of M.B. eateries. T-Bonz had been mentioned and is a great steak place. If you like "old time" rock-n-roll there is a place at "Broadway at the Beach" that has old time hamburgers, Onion Rings, b.b.q. sandwiches, milk shakes and the like. They play the oldies rock "60's and the waiters wil break out into dance every now and then. It is called Johnny Rockets. There are also several other very good places at Broadway at the Beach and Barefoot Landing. My trips include Drunken Jacks and T-Bonz as must meals.

Have fun and have some Flounder, Scallops and Shrimp at Drunken Jacks for me :ylsuper: .

Dicks Last Resort is "fun" I suppose but the food is awful.

:thumb: I agree on the food, it is terrible! I wouldn't even call it fun unless you are a young kid that likes their kind of "sarcastic" theme at the place. This is a place that thrives on insulting you as often as they can - it is kind of their thing/theme. My wife and I made the very bad mistake of going there one evening. It was sickining. a place for the young / college / drinking crowd. JMO and I strongly advise against it for you and your family.

Imo by far the best. :thumb:

I like Drunkin Jacks too.

Barefoot Landing has many good eateries as well. Dicks, Joes Crab Shack, T-Bonz and House Of Blues.

I will never eat at a Joe's Crab Shack again. Some of the worse service and food I have ever received at a restaurant. they were more worried about singing and dancing then serving our party.

Yes, I bought several pounds of shrimp and boiled them at the place we stayed at. One of the best meals of the week.

We're heading to Myrtle next week and it's our 1st time there. I know I'll get plenty of responses here. So, everybody throw some really good places to eat at me.

Are you bringing a team or just a family? Important question as the two worlds a bit different.

I f you want to travel a little north in Calabash NC. there is a place called Dockside best seafood in the area.

The crab cakes were very good.

We like Original Benjamins Seafood the best of all. Best seafood in Myrtle Beach if you ask me, but a little pricey.

Other favorites are

Admirals Flagship (seafood/buffet) at Murrells Inlet

Angelos (Italian and steaks)

TBonz at Barefoot Landing (steak)

Crabby Mikes (seafood buffet)

One thing that is for sure from all the post on this thread is that: To heck with the Beach, shows, entertainment..................we want to eat!!:ylsuper:  (one of the main reasons that I go to Myrtle is bc of the seafood, the other would be the shows )

I like Tony Romas also, great foot, its at Brodway.

I also loved the sign that Drunken Jack's had up above their menu when you entered: "How fresh is our Seafood? It was Swimming this Morning" :thumb:
