That is correct. Bonus points if you can tell me who is last alphabetically. Hint - hs name won't be appearing on any current sportscasts.

I don't know if its right or not but Paul Zuvella (sp) that used to play for the Pirates is the lowest ranking "Z" name that I can think of.

I definitely remember Paul Zuvella, but remember him as a Atlanta Brave 2nd basemen in the early 80's, possibly pre Glen Mother Hubbard.

You are right, it was the Braves. I had him confused with Sammy Khalifa that played for the Pirates. I had my banjo-hitting-middle-infielders-with-weird-names mixed up.

This 37-year old former All-Star has had only 1 season with an ERA under 4.20 since 2003, but has recently been on fire- since June 8th (a month and a day ago, and my birthday :D) he has gone 4-2 with a 2.08 ERA, a 0.83 WHIP, and 38 K to 6 BB, as well as going 7.2 innings per start. Who is he?
Is that from A.J. Mass's OotB this morning? If so, I believe it is Jose Contreras.

It was Contreras, but I calculated those numbers on my own.

See post 53 and 56. :D

Here is a cold one, that I read on another site, so don't blame me.

What former player is worth less than their 1987 Starting lineup figure?

Lenny Dykstra

Hubbard was up well before Zuvella, who was a shortstop in the minors.

What years did Hubbard play? I can remember Hubbard at 2B with the Braves. I also remember middle infielders such as Luis Gomez, Rafael Ramirez, Zuvella, Jerry Royster, Lavell Blanks, Paul Runge.

Glenn Hubbard was with the Braves from 1978 until 1987 and with the A's in 88-89.

Zuvella first came up in 82, when Hubbard was already had already been up for a while, and didn't stick as a utility infielder until 1985.

Didn't he have the cool baseball card with the snake around his neck?

Who is the only Hall of Famer selected in a Rule 5 draft?
