Bull butter. It is about them losing on National TV and the summer hype around the game. Anything else is bull butter. And you know I am right because even if that is not the reason, even if scheduling flexibility is the sole real reason, the PERCEPTION is that they are doing it to lessen the sting of a foregone L on the schedule. And they KNEW that was the perception because the idea had been shopped around for two years. And perception is reality when it comes to fan, recruits and media exposure so UK is reaping what the AD sowed.

 

It was a poor move for a program that had been making positive strides.

As clear as day, that quote says that Rich Brooks wanted the game moved off opening weekend for competitve reasons.

Nothing compared to what it has been the only hype has been negitive hype against Barnhart and this not being on TV, nobody is comparing defense and offenses like they were this time last year. Nowhere near the talk on the Radio shows like last year.

 

The first thing I learned in Political Science 301 was that perception is as or more dangerous than actual truth most the time. And the perception is (whether it is true or not) the Cats are trying to minimize the damage of a foregone loss to the Cards.

Just like many on here have let their blind loyalty to anything UK make them toe the party line like good little lemmings.

Locally. UK football is not a national story. But the game sparked interest in football and lead to in my belief more interest even on the High School level. Here locally. Which in turn lead to a better high school product and better instate recruiting for both schools.

This game rarely gets national hype...rarely.

Some guy on The Sporting News ranked it the 57th best game this year. 4th best on September 15th.

I have seen the game mentioned in some preseason rags as a big game.

Do you think they did this because it was not going to be on Labor Day Weekend?

To me, it's not a big deal..
