June 21, 200719 yr Bottom line....UK didn't want to get WAXED, AGAIN, in Week 1 so they wanted the game moved...Chicken move, all the way around. Now, the game may not even be televised Live, so that makes it even better for UK. You guys are a riot as far as supporting your team...Say you support them all you want, if you REALLY did, you'd be mad about losing a National TV slot that your program DESPERATELY needs...The UK Football Program always has been and always will be a joke. Live it up, Cats fans. They joked all the way to a bowl win last season. As far as I see it, this move does not make or break the program. Not even close. UK is a program on the rise. They have quite a few great players returning from a team that won the Music City Bowl....looks to me like they are on the way up, not down. Think the opposite as much as you want, but I believe UK will continue to improve next year.

June 21, 200719 yr Some of you are being ridiculous! You all think this ONE change is evidence that the UK football staff/administration is doing NOTHING to better the team? Tell that to all of those coaches/recruiters out there working their butts off year round to bring in new talent and out there working their butts off coaching! I can understand you disagreeing with the move, that is fine. Everyone has their own opinions. But this is a little childish. You do not get what YOU want, so you decide to take shots at UK? I do not understand this at all. Since when did re-scheduling ONE non-conference game become such a huge move that will make or break a program? When? What have the people behind the UK program done lately that is so bad? What evidence is there that this program will never succeed? They just won their first bowl game in how long? How many years has it been? How is that not a step up?

June 21, 200719 yr Author Case Closed? How about ND/GT or OKSt/UGA which are rated better games on that date. EASY BUTTON Sorry, meant 2nd, the Sunday, when the UofL-UK game is usually played. The only game on is Northern Colorado Vs Hawaii. Now THAT is case closed.:thumb:

Most of us realized that this may happen when all of this first went down which is why I'm not very upset now. I've dealt with it and moved on. There is plenty to look forward to this season, like 8 UK home games which probably wouldn't have occured had the game been left the same. I understand the Card fans being upset. But to sit here and rip and thrash the UK program is just childish. If your team is as good as we all think they will be they will have more than enough national exposure this season. This isn't the end of the world like some of you are making it out to be.

Louisville-Kentucky isn't like other football rivalry games. Relatively new series, in a basketball state between (classically) basketball schools, etc. The fact is my point was valid- UK-UL might get lost in the shuffle on September 15th... but it's easily best on September 2nd, with only a mid-major matchup to compete, not even any NFL.
