That's what I thought....It's not a knock on UofL, but any game that involves UK at this point as you said is a non-story nationally. If it's not a national story, I don't think the impact is that big on the recruiting front, at least for UK.

Go to the main rivals page, and go into CF, and look at fans across the nation laugh at UL.....

UofL football gets as much coverage as any team in the country from ESPN. SI too, especially from Stewart Mandel. And it's almost all positive. And don't forget that hometown love from Pat Forde.

Mention UK and Louisville in football to fans around the nation and see who laughs at who more. That is not a dig that is reality. I am not saying Louisville is a tradition powerhouse, quite the opposite, I am saying that both schools need the National exposure. And more important than national exposure, almost ten times more important is local hype and interest. If a 14 old kid in Grayson county can't watch the game why should he be hyped about it? If he doesn't hear about it all summer why would he care? If he doesn't care why does he take a chance and go out for football and work hard through the summer his freshman year when he knows he will not see varsity time? This game meant something and now it is being taken away from the common fan. There is something wrong about that. And if it was U of L taking it away I would be more upset, but as it stands it is not Louisville that is causing this issue. Believe me there are a lot of foolish Louisville fans out here that want to end the series altogether citing the lack of competition, scheduling flexibility and other things. And that would be the dumbest thing either school could do, this game has in my opinion been the single best driving force in getting spring passing leagues, interest in football, and general rise of school spirit all over the commonwealth on the High school side of things and I think that has helped both schools and prep sports overall in Kentucky. And I give those people far more a piece of my mind, and constructive instruction then I ever give on this board to any Cats fans. It is just irritating me to no end to see UK football seem to always take two steps forward and then two or three steps back, I want two competitive teams fielded by Kentucky, not just Louisville. And then this game does mean something nationally.

June 21, 200719 yr As a UK fan I am really saddened that this game won't be on the ESPN family of networks. I still think it will be on nationally somewhere, but this whole thing just continues to make our program look bad. I actually agree with the Louisville fans here.
