June 14, 200719 yr Just announced on Channel 18 in Lexington. This could be a big blow for the Cats if it proves to be serious, and would probably mean a small, guard oriented type team.
June 14, 200719 yr He might as well give up. Injuries are tough and have ended alot of careers. I guess you didn't go to the 'Think Positive' seminar.
June 14, 200719 yr From the CJ University of Kentucky basketball player Jared Carter last week re-injured his right shoulder. Carter, a 7-foot-2 sophomore from Georgetown, Ky., missed most of the 2006-07 season with a dislocated right shoulder. He dislocated the shoulder in November of last year, then returned to play three games before re-injuring it during practice on Dec. 7. UK’s medical staff has “not yet determined the extent of the injury,” UK spokesman Scott Stricklin said. Carter will be classified as a sophomore in 2007-08. UK plans to seek a medical redshirt year for last season.
June 15, 200719 yr He might as well give up. Injuries are tough and have ended alot of careers. Injuries are tough as you stated but fighting through them is part of the process of being an athlete. Carter or any other player should never give up unless requested to do so by a doctor. I hope he is able to overcome this latest set back.
June 15, 200719 yr I feel for Carter and hope he can overcome this injury. I believe that the Cats abnd Gillispie can overcome the loss if he is out (and I hope that he is not). As for "might as well give up", I can just offer the words of the Great Jim Valvano "Don't give up, don't ever give up".
June 15, 200719 yr It's not a big blow to the Cats. Anything he contributes in his career at UK will be considered gravy...
June 15, 200719 yr Hope he can over come this set back. I've had a 3'rd degree seperation of my left shoulder for a few years now and it's a pain in the but. It seems like once you start too make progress and restrengthen it, you make too much and irritate it. Hopefully he can get himself back on the right track and stay healthy for the rest of his career.
June 15, 200719 yr  I guess you didn't go to the 'Think Positive' seminar. ..I've been needing to enroll in one of those seminars for a while now...lol Injuries are tough as you stated but fighting through them is part of the process of being an athlete. Carter or any other player should never give up unless requested to do so by a doctor. I hope he is able to overcome this latest set back. Your right I hope he can work through this injury.
June 15, 200719 yr It's not a big blow to the Cats. Anything he contributes in his career at UK will be considered gravy... Believe it or not it could end up being a real big blow! I mean this kid was going to be THE ONLY real big guy we had this year, and we DEFINITELY could have used him! So hopefully ends up not being too serious and he can come back in time for the start of the year....

June 15, 200719 yr Mike Williams isn't on the team this year? That's news to me.... Smart guy are we? You know as well as I do that Mike Williams is known as a BIG project, and probably wouldn't have played much at all this year. Now say if Carter can't play, he might get some minutes. However I know Carter hasn't shown much, but after seeing a video of Williams playing, I much rather have Carter playing next year than Williams. So yeah if Carter can't play next year, its like I said we really won't have any big guy, because Williams IMO wont do anything to help NEXT YEAR atleast...
