The guy is a winner because he's turned a terrible program in to a Music City Bowl Champion. Say what you want, but this team is better now than when he took over. Is that not what he was hired to do?

You guys can be upset with our coach all you want, I like most of the things he has done here.

 

:thumb: Who cares what some UL fans think about UK's coach? I like him and I like what he has done for UK football.

Coach Brooks has done it the right way. He took the job when no one else wanted it. Probation killed UK's numbers. They are finally back at the 85 limit. Went 8-5 in the SEC, beat Georgia, who is a traditional powerhouse, and won a Bowl Game for the first time in 22 years. Hats off to him and good luck this year.

Most of us UK fans didnt like the Pitino hire either, you dont hear us ranting on about you all not being able to beat us.

Brooks is right...TV exposure for UK in regards to the U of L game does nothing to help them...how can getting pasted year after year by your in-state "rival" on national television, with basically nothing competing against it as far as football goes, be good for your program...?

It should. It should be the biggest possible motivator there is to upgrade an historically moribund program.

 

Either that or just admit little brother status and end the series.

Personally, I would have liked to have seen the UL/UK game on TV, but, at the same time, I like it being down the schedule a couple of games, so, you can look at it both ways.. The game will most likely be picked up by a regional station anyway... If not, I'll watch the Tape Delay version.. It does hurt UK revenues to a degree, but, the SEC teams make a ton of money each year, already..It probably hurts ULs revenue more than UKs...

The issue is exposure not revenue, niether program is hurting for revenue.

Only one reason why you as a coach don't care if a marquee game is televised or not; and that's because you think there might be people watching...

Exposure nationally does little for either school...Its not all of a sudden going to make a kid in California or Florida say, wow, that teams who I want to play for...Regional coverage is just as effective for that, because the majority of kids that'll go to UL/UK are in this geographic area anyway...

Yeah, if you count everyone within a 15-hour car ride as being from this area, then most of the players are from this area...:jump:

I'm talking about someone like Jefferson Pilot, who is a regional carrier of alot of games and these are the areas they cover, which is primarily our recruiting area already...
