I'm sure every officer and every department has different policies and practices regarding this. I'm sure the people in this thread weren't all pulled over the by the police in the same town or city.

If anyone has a carry concealed permit you need to keep the gun CONCEALED. The police really have no choice but to use extreme caution when dealing with anyone stupid enough to expose a weapon. We don't have a standard policy for this, it is a judgment call on a case by case basis.

May 30, 200719 yr If your going to carry in the car without a license put it in the glove compartment. Then when you get to your destination take it out and holster it. Nobody, can do anything about it in the glove box. However, once you holster it in public without a license, it must be in plain view. Chances are you will get harrased by the public and police.
