Looks like you got a good top four, only I don't see anyone that will slow down Corbin. Exspecially this year!

Danville returns everyone, plus took an embarrassing loss in the Finals, so they'll come out with a chip on their shoulder. I'd definitely say that they will be able to slow Corbin. NewCath is going to need a lot of people to mature in a hurry. They lose a lot of star power to graduation, and the heart of their defense. I look for them to have a regular season like last year and finish somewhere around #s 8-10. The playoffs are anyone's guess.

Lloyd's new coach will get them in the Top 10 before long... :sssh:
Talk to us in 2009, if he's still the coach there, then we'll see.

1. Danville

2. Corbin

3. Owensboro Catholic

4. Bardstown

5. Newport Central Catholic

This is a very tough class.

Very competitive...

Very competitive...

That may be a better choice of words.:thumb:

2A District Champs

District-2-1- Trigg County

District-2-2- Owensboro Catholic

District-2-3- Glasgow

District-2-4- Bardstown or Danville

District-2-5- DeSales

District-2-6- Newport Central Catholic

District-2-7- Prestonsburg

District-2-8- Corbin

Look for Corbin or Owensboro Catholic to win it all, not really a strong Class about five teams stand out the rest are along for the ride.

I would take this bet giving you Corbin/OwenCath and I will take the others!

Danville does NOT return everyone. They lose their QB (Witten), top playmaker (Guest), 2 top RB's (Ross and Strode), 2 TE's (Bryant and Morris), and several good lineman (Hughes, Frye, Elliot and Evans), and their kicker (Gay). The only two offensive performers that really return are Macon and Alcorn, and a couple of lineman, Nesbitt and Klein. I still expect them to be solid, because someone always steps up, but they lose 14 seniors off of a 45 man team.

It is Bardstown that returns almost everyone. They return QB (Smith), top RB (Scott), both FB's (Mattingly and Phillips), 4 of 5 OL, and 2 of the 3 really good MLB's. They will need to find a way to replace their top play-maker, Graves.

I think the Bardstown-Danville district rivalry is gonna be a good one.

Middlesboro

These are my 8 picks to win their districts.

I'd like to see Lloyd be good...2a in Northern Ky has been shakey, at best, the last few years...Considering Beechwood stayed in 1a and NCC moved to 2a, there should be pretty good teams up there in all the classes...

For the Record, Newport has played the 2A Champion better than Owensboro Catholic the past two seasons, they just caught them earlier in the playoffs. I would not underestimate No Ky 2A, especially with the addition of NCC and Holy Cross for the upcoming season. It's going to be a battle to get out, but I think the winner of that district could make it a long way!!!

FYI, Murray will be pressed to make the playoffs as a 4 seed. Yes, they'll be capable of winning some games, but, Trigg and Caldwell are better teams and Heath is right there with them, if not a shade better...

Oboro Cath will most likely be the favorite in D2, but, Ft Campbell will be right there in the thick of things, as a solid #2 or even solid 1B...

Glasgow, unless drastically improved from last year will not be as good as Monroe or Metcalfe Co and even Green Co will be competitive with them...

Bardstown should be the favorite in D4 with all they have returning, but, Danville will be in the hunt...

The other 4 districts, I'll take your word, cause I don't know enough about them to pick a favorite...

Corbin

Danville

Trigg Co

Murray

Prestonsburg
