They'll need at least a couple of scholarships for 09... I will really be interested to see how that all plays out over the next couple of months/years.

 

I think Pettigrew is going to be a good player regardless of whether or not he comes to UK... If he goes somewhere other than UK, it will be that "chip on the shoulder" mentality to show UK what they missed out on... If he does go to UK, I think he'll want to prove to everyone his worth and play out of his mind.

You're right. UK should just offer every Kentucky kid that gets an offer from a mid major.

UK may play Xavier 1 time over the next 4-5 years, if that...It's not like going to a conference rival that you play 2, maybe 3 times a year...But, with that said, if he turns out to be a stud, the topic will definately arrise. Hopefully, the UK faithful will look back on this thread and say, well, we at least agreed with BG on this one...

No....but hindsight can get you burned.....like it did for Tubby...this kid isn't short...can play the two a little...I think he's worth 1 scholly.

Well obviously Pettigrew is borderline. I think there is a pretty good argument both ways. I do really like the fact he is a Kentucky kid. This is probably a very difficult decision for Billy G.

I don't know anyone that thinks Pettigrew can play the two at a school of Kentucky's level.

 

Bottom line ... he's a power forward, maybe a small forward in the right situation. If Pettigrew can play the three, he can play at a major school. Otherwise, he's a mid-major power forward ... and a potentially pretty good one.

Tubby's cats went 10 straight years and that got him ran out of town by the UK fans. Different expectations than that at UK. And a player that might fit well at X doesn't mean that they fit well at UK.
