Wish I could...but I just can't make myself like this show.

 

IMO, it will never be as good as....the show in my Avatar ;).

:lol: The Shield's writing and acting are far superior to that in 24. Not to mention, The Shield...has been around longer.

I've never watched it...but Jack Bauer is hard to beat. :lol:

If you like gritty, realistic (to a certain extent) shows...you'll like "The Shield". I believe I was wrong when I said it has been around longer. Still yet, nothing beats "The Shield". I wasn't a fan because I'd never watched it, till about 2 years ago. Then I went out and bought every season on DVD because I loved it so much. The writing is like no other show I've ever watched.

 

I'm a big fan of "Lost", "Prison Break", and I'll occasionally watch "Criminal Minds"....but none of those are even close to "The Shield". They killed off a main character last season, and many fans of the show were really hurt. I sat and stared at the TV for almost an hour after it happened, it was so dramatic. I recommend you try it out. If you have Blockbuster Online, or Netflix...try renting the seasons. It's worth it...

Anybody know where I can find tonights episode online? Sisters in the Hospital so noone was here to tape it tonight.

 

 

I believe you can watch the episodes on fox's website. I watched a couple of Prison Break episodes on there.

I've never watched "The Shield", but I have a couple of friends who love it and have tried to get me to. Just like I've tried to get them to watch 24. We're at a stalemate...:lol:...they were also big fans of Nip/Tuck, so I questioned their show selection. Just kidding, before I offend any Nip/Tuck fans.

 

If 24 has "filler" episodes, then they are some of the best on television. The whole premise of the show is classic...24 episodes, one per each hour of the day while they try to stop a terrorist plot...I've been watching for the past 3 seasons, and every episode is intense and action-packed, unlike any show I ever watched. It just happens that some shows are more intense and exciting, but that doesn't mean the others are fillers, that's just the way it works.

I love them both, and am a late convert to both, beginning the Shield with the 4th season and 24 with the 3rd (went back and watched the early seasons of both), but IMO The Shield is definitely better. The #1 reason I think it's better is that it being on FX, it can be more realistic in a lot of areas, and they're just generally given more freedom to do whatever they need to to make it great television.
