Ram, let me put it this way. You and just 4 fun mentioned Cov HC w/numerous teams moving from 1A to 2A. My question was why would people refer to Cov HC in the same breath w/Danville, Bardstown, NCC, etc. They have never made any noise in 1A so it don't make any difference if they move up or not, IMO. This is what I was referring to. Sorry for the confusion.

Lex Cath will be 4A next year, but they'll be just as good as the best of 5A as well.

I thought they were playing up??? My bad.........:thumb:

Oxnard's post, as usual, is straifgtforward and his analysis is appropriate in this case. Trinity has a much larger number of starters returning, and may begin the season as a favorite, since they are the defending champions. Both squads have top of the line coaches. But, St. X should have plenty of talent this year. Last years' (2006 season) seniors were totally blown away as freshmen by Trinity and Male, and (coincidently ?) Trinity and Male were the top teams four years later. X's and O's often are trumped by Jimmys and Joes.

Ox, RP may have hit it overall: "In 6A, I hear Trinity, St. X, and Male will be ok." As the saying goes...The only things certain are death and taxes. Perhaps "In 6A, I hear Trinity, St. X, and Male will be ok" can be added.:D

There are too many top 10s!!!!!!!

There will be 60 top 10 teams in the state this year!!!!

First off I wouldn't have BG #1. They get killed in the finals every time they play in it.

Not everytime. They did smack Highlands in the State Finals once.;)

No problem. I was only trying to say that 1A was still competitive with some really good programs.:thumb:

The reason CHC was brought up by me was because they were a Top 10 1a team last year and although they were knocked out in the playoffs, they were still a better team then some of the lower tier Top 10 teams in 1a will be this year

3a.....

#1 Breathitt County

#2 Belfry

#3 Russell

#4 Somerset

#5-#10 its up for grabs

Louisville Central and Paducah Tilghman will be up there as well.

Breathitt has all but three linemen and a runningback. The offense should be as good as anyone in 3A and the defense should be back the way john paul chapmans defense has played when they won state.

Louisville Central and Paducah Tilghman will be up there as well.

I'd say these 2 are both top 5 teams next year....They'll certainly have the athletes to be...Russell and Belfry will also be very good...That'll most likely be your final 4 teams in 3a next year....

5A)

1) Highlands

2) CCH

Pick and choose 3 through 10

I would have a hard time calling BGHS a lump 'em in with everyone else kind of squad. While they must still prove they can win on the carpet, they have been every bit as good as Highlands over the past two years, and probably return the same kind of team.

My adjustment would be:

1) CCH

2) Highlands

3) BG

4) - 10) Take your pick.

This year isn't the last two years......:p The Birds have alot returning from last year...

As does BG...more than people think. The 6'6 twins, D.L. Moore (WR) and Ryan Wallace (TE) will present problems when complimented by Jarred Carpenter (RB/SS). Wallace already has offers from Oklahoma Sate, Ole Miss, and Cincinnati who has also offered Moore. WKU has offered Moore and Carpenter. It is quite likely that Wallace will be the biggest recruit out of BG since Rob Reynolds, who is now with the Titans...but, we heard about all the college studs last year as well, so we'll just have to wait and see. I still think they're in a class with Highlands and Cov. Cath though. JMO

Somerset should be a regional contender again this year. IMO they will be a top 5 team in 3A.
