April 24, 200719 yr Cubs blow another 4-run lead with Zambrano on the hill and lose to the Brewers 5-4. The Cubs have officially been eliminated from the playoffs this year, just three weeks into the season. :irked:
April 24, 200719 yr Yep, once they got the big lead tonight, I knew it was a matter of time before things went bad and sure enough they did. Change the manager, up the payroll, doesn't matter.
April 24, 200719 yr Author We need middle relief help badly, Im gonna stop watching till my birthday, its ruining my life right now.
April 24, 200719 yr Cubs would be silly to send Pie back down to the minors right now. He's playing some good ball and is the only outfielder playing in position. Lou should stick Soriano back in left and let Cliff Floyd get some more time out in right as he adds more power to the lineup than Murton or Jones. The bullpen is once again killing the Cubbies, good thing we have Hill going tonight as he has been a great surprise and really the only sure thing for the Cubs thus far.
April 25, 200719 yr Nice to see the bats finally wake up a little today. Hopefully this team can start to get it together!
June 2, 200719 yr Poor Cubs, after a in-team brawl yesterday the Cubs looked like they might comeback and beat the Braves today but Pagan was thrown out trying to steal 3rd and Lou Pinella earned his first ejection as the Cubs manager. Fans then threw cups, bottles, and mugs onto the warning track which cause a delay of game. Braves lead 5-3 in the top of the 9th.
June 2, 200719 yr The Cubs magic number for elimination is down to 4. I think they were eliminated once they showed up in Spring Training.
July 30, 200719 yr Hot rumor is Dunn to the Cubs to give them a big lefty bat and balance out their right-handed hitting line-up. Soriano would move back to CF.
July 30, 200719 yr Hot rumor is Dunn to the Cubs to give them a big lefty bat and balance out their right-handed hitting line-up. Soriano would move back to CF. Now that would be one heck of a defensive OF...
July 30, 200719 yr Now that would be one heck of a defensive OF... I guess they figure balls can drop if your line-up looks like theirs would. Soriano, Lee, Dunn, Ramirez...ouch baby.
July 30, 200719 yr Hot rumor is Dunn to the Cubs to give them a big lefty bat and balance out their right-handed hitting line-up. Soriano would move back to CF. Whats coming in return?
July 30, 200719 yr Who are they rumored to send our way... Some say Murton and 2 or 3 pitchers, some say Jones and 2 or 3 pitchers. Reds want Sean Gallagher in any deal. One guy thinks the Reds would want Pie, Gallagher and 2 more "A" and "AA" players.
