Keep all of the catholic schools out of the equation.....They don't pay enough and that is what I would say is part of a top 10 job...

I've had a few jobs that made a ton of money and a few that didn't. I would rate some of the lower paying ones some of the best. So I guess its a matter of whats important to you.:thumb:

What about the facilties...

 

St. X and Trinity have the finest in the state. I would think that would be a plus.

 

And the money, well I don't know what coaches at T or X make but I do know the Alumni care a WHOLE LOT ABOUT FOOTBALL and care about the program years down the road, look at the X&T game every year.

I think you are referring to Private Schools when you said keep the Catholic Schools out of the conversation. I assure you Paul Rains makes great money at LCA in Lexington.

 

The big danger in coaching at a Private School is you do not get the Kentucky Public School System Retirement Plan. 27 years in the Public School system and you can retire but Private Schools do not have that.

 

But as far as a year to year pay check you can make a lot of money coaching at a Private School. Different rules and regulations.

Has everyone forgot about Russell? Russell should be on that list somewhere between 5-10. JMO.

The coaching jobs is ranked on the History of the program and the size of the fan base. Finaly the pressure to win now type of program, either win a large amount games or racking up the titles in one's tenure of coaching. This is my reasons for ranking them, agree or disagree.

Its good to see that Nelson Co. has worked its way off of the "tough jobs" list.

Some people stay in the public system to meet their 27 years and they retire but then they go back and teach or coach in the private system and then you are double dipping. Great way for educators to make money on down the road.

If you don't think Beatty or Lampley don't make any money you are nuts, nuts, nuts.

I do not know what they make but I would not think that as good of coaches as they are they would not stay there for no reason.

 

If they would like me to coach them I would be happy to, no matter what the money is.

I think the original question had to do with coaching as far as the skill level, tradition of the school, the fanbase, the alumni etc. The question wasn't "Rank the highest paying coaching jobs in the state."

Why is Prestonsburg a tough job?

By the way how is a good job defined?

 

Support from the adminstration?

Pay (teacher/coaching)?

Teaching Schedule?

How many asst. in the building?

Feeder Programs?

Fan Support?

Budget/Fundraising?
