April 4, 200719 yr I would think if Billy D has stayed in touch with all his signed recruits, he would be telling them he was staying...It may be different to a non committed recruit...I'm not convinced Billy D has even been in touch with any of the recruits or Mitch Barnhart or anyone else at UK for that matter....He may be the #1 choice, but, Mitch may be letting him enjoy the moment and giving him a few days to absorb it, before an actual meeting/offer... I know how anxious everyone is, especially with Patterson and Lucas lingering out there, but, this decision is much more long term than this 1 recruiting class...If we get them, great, if we don't, take your lumps and start working for the 08 class... :thumb:

You would think of he had plans of staying at Florida he would have just told the kid not to worry he wasnt going anywhere. Maybe I'm reading too much into it.
April 4, 200719 yr BD is recruiting him for wherever he is coaching so I'm sure he has kept in touch with him and told him to hold off, wouldn't you think? Nope that's an NCAA recruiting violation waiting to happen. I'm not sure if Florida was on Patterson's list of schools, but if it were and Billy is named the UK coach and then Patterson desides to come there might be trouble:eek:

April 4, 200719 yr For what?:lol: Okay, I've researched a little and I can't find any reason that a coach couldn't ask a recruit to wait, but it just doesn't seem right. I might have got that assumption from reading Jim Tessel's contract with Ohio State which stated that he could not have any contact with OSU recruits if he stayed at the same level for so many years.:confused: At any rate I guess your right HammerTime:eek:

The fact that PP hasn't signed and was interested in UK and Floria doesn't make you think. If I were BD and taking the UK job PP woul be told before ANYONE!!!

His exact words "I'm happy at the University of Florida and I'm here to coach their basketball team..." Quit wishing you're going to land him...your dreams aren't coming true anytime soon.

Because we've seen it too many times...that's what coaches say until they make a move...I'm not saying Donovan is or isn't coming, but quotes like that aren't strong enough to remove any speculation that he'll come to UK. The quote you posted is a far cry from, "I'm not interested in the Kentucky coaching job. I'm not leaving Florida." And, to my knowledge, he hasn't come out and made a statement like that. All coaches say that standard line at times like this...some of them stay and some don't...if you want an example, look no further than Tubby Smith.
