Austin Hill at NKU.

Lets Pull a Joe Nameth here:

Austin Hill will play college basketball at a Junior College next year, I guarantee it.

One school that I wouldn't count out that may be in the picture is WKU..... :sssh:

I had a chance to speak with some inside sources and this is what I found out.

Also let's not forget that Mr Jefferson is attending UK for football. Hill could very well end up at UK considering Gillespie is there and so will one of his best friends.

I already said that, I just didn't compare it to Joe.

Austin won't be at a JC...if he doesn't go big D1 he'll end up at Western KY. I had a chance to speak with him and that's another school recruiting him pretty hard.

The problem with this is that I have talked to a lot of people that claim to be "in the know" and each of them tells me something different. i happened to stumble upon one guy who is "his cousin" who says one school and then one guy who knows and has talked to some other relation and they say something else and then one guy who says he has talked to him and he said he is going to this school... I don't think anyone but Hill really knows where he will go, or maybe even where he is considering...

Junior College, I would bet my last dollar on it.

Austin Hill is a man among boys on the high school floor and game, but in big time college basketball he would be the boy among men. NKU would be a great fit for him, just like TMC will be a great fit for TJ and Bo of CovCath.. We all love how they play, but in the real world of big time college basketball, it takes a lot more than just a big heart and desire....

After watching Austin play in the state tournament, I will agree with you on this one. I thought he was timid at times and looked unsettled and if you put him on the floor at Rupp against the likes of SEC competition he would be overmatched. If he was 6'4 then I may say he could play at that level but he should focus on D2 or a school where he can be the MAN if you will.

So one inch is the difference between D1 and D2?

How did Austin look timid? He had 20 points every game in the state tournament. If anything, Austin is one of the most confident people on the floor in every game. Austin doesn't have to be "The Man" to play D1. He is good enough and has played good enough competition to play at the D1 level. It will just take a extra hard work and more time to become a contributor.

I think a couple of you (not you) are thinking he can't play at the D1 level because he wouldn't go in and start right away or play, but I can guarantee you by his late soph early junior year, he would be a contributor, once again, whether it be off the bench or as a starter.

Might want to check that.

i agree with most of this... the image we get of college freshmen now are the Oden Durant Conley Anthony type... but there are a lot of guys that never really contribut til a year or two in... Hill might not come in an have an immediate effect but he can definately play...

Agree, The first game of the tourney he didnt score ten.

Not exactly. Hill had 26 and 21 in the wins over Paducah Tilghman and South Laurel and 15 in the semifinal loss to Scott County.

Exactly my point. Sure Austin isn't an Oden or Durant type player but he can definetly contribute at the D1 level after a year or two. :thumb:

From the KY post today...

Hill said he plans to make recruiting visits to Xavier University, Texas A & M and Winthrop later this spring. Akron has recently entered the picture.

"I know I can play Division I," Hill said. "I'm just going to keep working out and shoot in the gym, and see what happens."
