Austin Hill at NKU.

Featured Replies

I had the chance to watch Austin Hill work out and run with the starters for Northern today and was very impressed. I was sitting next to his Uncle and we talked for a little while about the possibility of NKU landing him, and other schools that were interested as well. I'd be schocked if Hill settled for NKU, he's too good IMO. He had the most athletic ability of anyone on the floor today and scored nearly whenever he wanted. And before I get trashed for saying he's too good for NKU, remember this was against their starting line up.

He guarded Anthony Teague very well. It was quite impressive.

I've said numerous times, as most of you know, that UK should try and get this kid. He has Major DI talent.

I'd be shocked if Austin didn't end up at a Juco. I agree that he definately has DI talent, although I don't think he has the talent to play at some of the top DI schools.

I'm not sure he does yet, but I'd say he definitely has the potential. If he lives up to his potential, he can go as far as he wants. And I mean that in the broadest sense, we could be watching him on Sportscenter one day. The sky really is the limit for the kid. Not saying that will ever happen, but crazier things have.

How does he not have the talent to play at the top D1 schools? That's a joke

I don't think he would sniff the floor his freshman year at any of the schools that are going to be ranked in the top 10 in the preseason polls next year, he is a High Major D1 talent though, just at a school that will be bottom tier in the BCS conferences.

I think you're right, but IMO Austin has the work ethic and talent to play for any school in the country after his freshman or say soph year.

I keep hearing NKU will be going DI in the next few years, will that have any effect on his decision??

They will be, and it could effect his decision. But I just can't see him passing up offers from major DI schools.

Who has offered that is consider major D-1?

I'm sorry guys, I just dont see it. I know I've only seen him a couple times, but he doesnt look like a major D1 kid to me. I would think he could be pretty good at a school like NKU, and possibly start lower D1, but the major D1 talk is a little much IMO.

It's not a joke, I honestly don't think he is good enough to play at a Duke or UNC or even a UK when they are themselves. The kid is a great talent and does have a great work ethic, and a bottom big conference school could be a good fit. But once again, I think he is probably going to be a member of a junior college team next year. If not that then I'd say maybe NKU.
