I'm guessing if Lidge gets traded it's not to a team in their division.

I would like to publicly say that I offer a complete and utter retraction of a statement I made in last years Track the Reds thread when I said that I thought that Coffey could make it as our closer. That, in hindsight, may have been the single most stupid thing that I've ever said. I hate to say it, but when I see him sprint on to the field, I wish secretly that the turf monkey would grab his cleat and flip him like a goose that was just shot. How do you get a guy 0-2 and drill him? And it's not like that's the first time either. If he's our setup guy, we're in seriously dire straits. I am of the opinion that when you make a "donkey" of yourself with your entrance, you'd better be lights out when you get there. When Randy Myers and his bowlegged trot used to enter the game with his camo shirt half out, he got it done! Even my 13 y.o. said "Here comes Todd to 'Coffey' up another lead". I understand that Cormier sucks, that's a given. But the fact that I said that I thought Coffey could close sometimes wakes me up at night. Again, I would like to apologize to all readers/posters here on BGP for my asinine statement and I'll do my very best to refrain from such idiotic comments in the future!!!!!

Your latter point holds water, but Krivsky can't let pride get in the way of making a good deal if it is available.

Coffey will be fine you are being a bit harsh on one of our best bullpen guys. He has had a rough home stand and may have lost a little confidence 3 or 4 nights ago. I think he will bounce back and be solid just like he has the last 2 years. Stats don't lie he is a good pitcher.

Thats O.K. Doc, like no one else on BGP (including myself) has never made a statement that they wanted back. There are a few that thinks that they have posted all intellegent and true post though. :sssh: :lol:
