Track The Reds...

Part of me missed seeing the Reds playing tonight, then I suddenly realized how depressing it would likely be if they were playing. I guess we should REALLY cherish these off days.

I just felt that I needed to point out something I've noticed about Bronson Arroyo. He seems to me to be the ultimate teammate and professional. Has anyone else noticed that whenever Narron pulls Arroyo after only 85-90 pitches, and the bullpen blow's it, Arroyo will come out and say he was gassed, wore out. If Narrron leaves him in, and he throws 115-120 pitches, and Arroyo loses the games, Arroyo will come out and say he felt great. It seems to me that Arroyo is always looking to deflect any criticism that would have been directed toward Narron.

Thats what mangers do. Maybe Arroyo should skipper the Reds.

It must be noted that this post is in stark contrast to your initial post when the Reds traded for Arroyo. ;) :sssh: :D

I never questioned Arroyo's attitude or class, I merely questioned his abilities, to which he has more than proved me wrong.

Such a serious response for 8:30 in the morning...I was "just playin' ".:p

I had thought you had to be on for at least 15 days?

I would love to see him up here though....

I was listening to Marty during a game recently and they were talking about what Moeller had to say about the pitching in Louisville. Said Moeller said Dumitrait looked ready to contribute at the MLB level and one other name I didn't recognize and don't remember. He said Bailey has a nice arm. Marty was taking his remarks to indicate Moeller didn't think Homer was ready to be at this level. Seemed like Brenaman was saying maybe he's not ready and if not, why bring him up.

I heard him talking about that (perhaps on a different day), and I got the impression that Marty and Thom thought Moeller's remarks w/re to Bailey were under instruction by the organization.

Is Harang expected to be back to pitch on Monday?

I believe he is scheduled to start on Sunday and they are crossing their fingers that happens.

I was expecting a McBeth bereavement list joke from you...

Looks like the Reds had a mandatory early workout. There was the usual extra hitting and the like. But this was no typical early session.

They took fielding practice. Bucky Dent hit fungos into the gaps and corners, outfielders ran them and hit the cut-off guy. You usually only see that kind of stuff in spring training.

After the club took infield -- again a regular season rarity -- Jerry Narron called them all in. He talked to them for about five minutes around the pitcher's mound. Bucky Dent also spoke, as did David Weathers.

Desperate times, desperate measures and all that.

We'll see how much good it did starting at 7:10.
