May 4, 200719 yr UKMF, as one of Griffey's most vocal critics, let me give both sides of the coin from last night: Good: Hit another home run. Bad: Berkman's ball was very, very catchable and over-running a pop-up for a double is disgraceful. (both in the first inning) Good: two more hits. He and Dunn both hitting the ball makes this an offense that is tough to face. Good: his last AB in the 9th is fine, he did hit the ball hard and Loretta made a nice play on it. Bad: if you are the last out of the game, and you reaching base brings the tying run up with 2 outs, I expect to see maximum effort busting it down the line to try and beat the relay. Notice Freel did everything in his power to upend Biggio at second. Good: nice to see Griff steal a base...honestly, not being funny, I wasn't sure he'd ever get another bag. If he keeps swinging a good bat, and can stay in the line-up, and Dunn keeps doing what he's done the last 7 days, they should be okay (offensively). Side-note: have the Reds allowed the most runs in the MLB in the 8th inning this year? It is a joke. That is at least 3 games where they have allowed 3+ runs in the 8th to blow a game.

May 4, 200719 yr Can't be to mad with Stanton he has been better than most the guys down there so far. Why even bring him in at that time though.Coffey was doing all right.Another case of Naron over managing when he didn't need to.Also, not having Phillips bunt the two runners over cost them a run and an extra batter in the ninth since Jr wouldn't have hit into a double play.:madman:

The thing about taking Coffey out. If you pitch these middle relief guys multiple innnigs, you lose their availablity the next day, but if 2 pitchers pitch one inning each, then more than likely, they both will be available the next day.
May 4, 200719 yr How about this starting lineup for tonight? Hatteberg 1b Phillips 2b Griffey rf Encarnacion 3b Dunn lf Gonzalez ss Hamilton cf Ross c Belisle p

That is true but how many times have the pitchers pitched good two days in a row? Coffey may not get anyone out the next time he plays,I'm for if he is hot play him until he starts getting hit.You don't know what you will get from day to day with most of them.

May 4, 200719 yr What the hell is up with that lineup...:creepy: Hatteberg, not your typical leadoff guy.

May 4, 200719 yr Did anyone happen to catch Thom and Marty making fun of Astros announcer Milo Hamilton last night? Apparently Hamilton signs all of his autographs Milo Hamilton HOF X5. Thom then mention that Marty is a member of 6 Hall of Fames, and that Marty should start signing his HOF X6.
