Anytime you've hit a program where the fans accept nothing but winning, somewhere in the past, someone was doing something right. I'll take that fan base and all those banners any day of the week.

The way I see it Big Bill just does does his job the best he knows how. He has opinions just like the rest of us. Does he know basketball more than the rest of us? NO. He just knows more people. If Kentucky returns to the final four in a couple of years you will hear him say what a great job the KY coach has. These people just try to talk about the current year. He will be on the KY bandwagon the next time the Big Blue are playing for a national title.

My team of choice has all kinds of banners and 2 of the NCAA Title variety. Truth be told I respect them, but don't pay much attention when I'm in the building. I'm more interested in the game and opponent at hand. I don't find living in the past all that much fun...

Don't forget, when my boys lose....but since UK has lost so much in the last two years...times have still been great for me.

Thats what I'm saying. Will he be talking about Ohio State next year the way he is this year? I don't think so, they are all going pro or should be. It just makes me mad sometimes about how they talk about schools. Kentucky is still one of the best jobs in the nation. Just like Duke or NC. When KY makes it to another title game just check out the SI cover.

Well how did we end up talking about the KY fanbase. IU hasn't had any tradition in the past 15 years. And I certainly hope we get a better quality coach that Sampson, or we won't have any tradition left either.

^ sure....but times have changed and it is also time to be aware of now...and not allow for one's history to think that one is "guaranteed" said present success.
