March 23, 200719 yr I am a huge Tubby fan. I'm upset that he is gone. But I am very excited for him especially after watching the press conference with UM. I'm also very excited about the new era of KY Basketball. The next few weeks/months will be very interesting and exciting to see who is OUR coach will be.

Nice post and I could agree with your sentiments. Nice avatar, btw. :thumb:
March 23, 200719 yr My parents are on in Florida ready to go on a cruise. And he said from the Florida media's perspective, the fans are out of control and unrealistic in KY. Sad...(stale face)
March 23, 200719 yr Or maybe it's just that I'm embarrassed to be consider a UK fan when I get home from work and on ESPN they're talkin bout how much this is the FAN fault. Very True. How would other top programs such as Duke, UNC, UCLA, KU fans have treated their coach if the last 10 years if it were the same as Tubby's. Thats the only thing you could compare it too.

I saw the avatar and read the post about your parents being in FLA and thought to myself, My parents aren't in Florida???

March 23, 200719 yr Its totally different. UC fans didn't combat each other on here and acuse them of not being "true" fans. Sure a little of what you say can be the case for most, but after two seasons of accusing others as not being "true" fans, IMO I just think the "true fans" of someone other than the porgram itself are starting to come out. Well lets see there are no where near the number of UC fans on here, and also as everyone knows UK has the best fans in the world but also some of the unrealistic fans in the world as well...Also where have you seen that true fans of other than the program are starting to come out? Because what I seen is that alot of people like me now has Minnesota as their second favorite team, and THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT AT ALL. Does it mean that UK is not are favorite team anymore, just because we want to see Tubby do well at another school. No it does not, you will find that everyone who now will support Minnesota, still has UK as their favorite team though....

On here, no. On the UC boards it's still going on every day...

If he left they would still support him and the team he coaches.
March 23, 200719 yr I've asked this in everyone of these pointless threads you've started..... Why can I not be a fan of more than one team? I support Tubby and will always root for him to win wherever he coaches. Doesn't mean I'm not as big of a UK fan as I was 2 days ago. UK will always be my team first and foremost, just so happens that Minnesota is now my 2nd choice. Why do you have a problem with that??

I see no problem with it at all.:thumb:

The bottom line is, we are ALL UK fans, and the fact we lost one of the top 5 Coaches (imo) in the Country is what hurts the most. In five years, we can all look back and see what we lost. If UK doesn't get Billy D., this is a HUGE lost.

March 23, 200719 yr I think we should already have a pretty good idea about UNC and UCLA... Big difference. They both had experienced losing seasons, missed out on NCAA bids, and even missed NIT invites. UK was never in the same situation as either of those two.
