March 23, 200719 yr Author Actually when coaching changes occur many schools let the recruits out of their LOIs if they want. I think a big key to this would be if the coach has any recruits willing to follow him.

March 23, 200719 yr Actually when coaching changes occur many schools let the recruits out of their LOIs if they want. True, but the school has a choice. Hypothetical- would Florida free a player to follow Donavan to UK? Think not. And if they are not released an transer in conference, it's a two year penalty.

March 23, 200719 yr By Smith leaving today, I think you can just about count next season and the season after that as a lock for double digit losses. 50/50 for year 3 to have double digit losses. you mean kind of like these last couple of seasons.
March 23, 200719 yr Author you mean kind of like these last couple of seasons. So this change should make it better right??
March 23, 200719 yr you mean kind of like these last couple of seasons. The difference is that I think UK was at worst 50/50 to get both Lucas and Patterson. Add those to the mix including what we have coming back and I think UK has a very good season next year. Now instead of both of those guys coming, UK probably also loses Morris and possibly Jasper or Meeks. I'll take my chances with scenario 1, rather than 3 years of the same pain we have had the last 2 years.
March 23, 200719 yr This is a good day for UK. We might be down next year but this was bound to happen. Tubby peaked and was going down hill steadily. He could not bring in the right kind of talent. IF.. (IF) we get the right kind of coach, nobody will remember Tubby in 2-3 years.
March 23, 200719 yr WHO IS A BETTER COACH? Cuz There might only be about 3 in the COUNTRY IMO that are as good or better than Tubby at coaching. Well apprently they are 25+ in the country who are considering we were out of the top 25 for two consecutive seasons in a row, not to mention two straight 8 seeds, two straight first round SEC apperances. If Tubby cannot perform at Kentucky with the resources he has, then he obviously isn't as good of a coach as everyone says. If he was a top three coach, why didn't Georgia make any runs, or Tulsa? He had more than average seasons with average teams and he lucked into the Kentucky job. His luck has ran out in the past two years, and to be honest if he never landed at Kentucky he would have never been considered the coach he is today.
March 23, 200719 yr Coming from a guy who thinks Calipari would be a good choice..... Yes, I would rather have Eddie Sutton back. John Calipari would never, ever, even get a call from UK PERIOD!! Are you kidding me?
March 23, 200719 yr Yes, I would rather have Eddie Sutton back. John Calipari would never, ever, even get a call from UK PERIOD!! Are you kidding me? Calapari is speculated on Mitch's list. You guys can hate him all you want but hes laughing his way on to the elite 8 tonight with a no name school called Memphis.

I REALLY don't want Calipari. He's seemed to underachieve with the people brought in, and he's had some NCAA run ins too, right?
