So you're saying the pressure from the fans is the reason he left?

I ment it is one of the reasons I don't blame him for leaving.

Your right.

Indeed. It has been a tumultious day in the Commonwealth.

What is going to be interesting is how long is the vocal minority(18%) going to give the "new" coach and what happens when the new coach goes 19-14 next season, then 22-11 the following season, 23-10 in year three(because honestly that would be about average or above average for some of the candidates mentioned)???

Expectations that are IMPOSSIBLE to live up to, unrealistic fan base.

Longest Final Four drought in school history, most losses over a 2-year non-probation period in school history. Record losing streaks to SEC opponents. Vandy's first two wins EVER in Rupp. UK's first two appearances in the opening round of the SEC tourney. Finished the season unranked two consecutive years.

Quit acting like he won the title two years ago. He was underperforming pure and simple. Was he a terrible coach? No. Can UK do better? Absolutely.

There are THREE coaches in the SEC EAST that are currently doing a better job than he has done.

WHO IS A BETTER COACH? Cuz There might only be about 3 in the COUNTRY IMO that are as good or better than Tubby at coaching.

I agree, but I think that is very possibly what UK is staring down the barrel of right now. UK's last two seasons have been mainly due to a horrible senior class. Just shows what one bad recruiting class can do to a team(and that was followed up by the number 1 recruiting class the following year and a pretty good freshman class). Not even mentioning the possibility of losing some of the current players to transfer. I think unless the "new" coach brings some big recruits with him, this scenario is a realistic possibility as much as it pains me.

For all those in favor of the firing Tubby, you got what you wanted. This is a sad day for UK basketball IMO. We take a big step back, and it might be a while until UK is back on top. Hope you guys are happy now.

Billy Donovan

Bruce Pearl

Kevin Stallings

All three coached teams to higher finishes in the SEC, and more importantly all three are still playing.

I said BETTER coach.

I said BETTER coach.

Oh right... I forget that losing is the sign of good coaching.

Seriously, what are you talking about?

The goal of coaching is to win, correct? Pearl, Donovan, and Stallings have all been doing that more than Tubby, so that makes them better.

If you think Pearl and Stallings are better coaches because they are farther in the tourney this year then I don't know what to say. Because thats really all you are saying.
