I would hope they could do better than that. I agree that Travis isn't ready but give him two more years and one of the big boys in Division 1 will be calling him. (No, I don't consider UMass a great program, they had one good year in 96 with Calipari, Camby, and company.)

I would hope they could do better than that. I agree... somewhat. I thought we needed someone experienced too, but look at Donovan. He was 35-20 in two years at Marshall. His first two years at Florida were both losing seasons, but since then he has had only one double-digit loss season. I want a coach that is going to bring the Dynasty back to Kentucky basketball. A coach that will be here 20 years with several national championships and consistent top-5 and top-10 teams, year in and year out.
March 20, 200719 yr A Final Four is a great season. We wouldn't be talking about this if an Elite Eight was a "great" season, now would we? Tubby has made it to the Elite Eight before. If you consider anything other than an appearance in the Final Four (ex. Sweet 16) a "great" season, then you're one of the fans that don't understand Kentucky basketball. I agree, too many fans apparently do not understand what most people around the state and around the country do...Kentucky basketball is held to a higher standard than most. They didn't get to be the all-time winningest program, win 7 national championships, etc, etc being satisfied with anything less than the best. All this bull I hear about parity in college basketball is just that...BULL! UNC, Duke, Kansas and the ilk will not tolerate not being in the national title picture from the beginning of the season, going most of the season without being ranked, multiple poor tournament performances, etc, etc. UK is supposed to be better than that and its fans demand that the program be better than that. If Tubby's teams were routinely mentioned when talking about the national championship, Final Four, etc, if UK was consistently ranked in the top 10 (if not the top 5), and if the team consistently gave a good showing in the tourney, fans wouldn't be up in arms calling for his head. Unfortunately, that has not been the case and Kentucky has lost its luster on the national stage and the program shows NO signs of returning to its rightful place in the near future.

I couldn't agree more..... In my mind it comes down to the following question for the UK Athletic Administration, Fans and Ticket holders.... Are you happy with 12 - 13 losses a year and a finish in the SEC in the top 4 (as in 2, 3 or 4th place) and a national ranking of 15 to 30??? With 15 being the highest ranking all season.... If that makes you happy and you think everything is great then you got the program your looking for......
