March 19, 200719 yr I'm sorry, call me biased if you want, but I'm just not impressed with this kid...I've pretty much held my tongue all year long, and IMO, he is not enough of an offensive threat to run the point for UK, and I also don't think he is doing so much on the defensive end to overlook his dismal offensive games...What do you say?
March 19, 200719 yr Tubby realized mid year, to late year it was time to go to Meeks. Until Jasper learns how to shoot he isn't really helping us. He has great size and good athleticism, but he's a less flashy Rondo.

March 19, 200719 yr He played great early on. About 12 points, 8 rebs., 5 asst. vs UCLA in Maui, but after the season really got going, he lost his confidence and never got it back. If he could learn to shoot, and Lucas comes to UK, he could be an effective small forward.

Rondo was alot better of a pg than Jasper, because Rondo actually drove to the basket...And alot of you have brought up Hawkins, but Hawkins became a much better shooter every year at UK, and by his senior year he was a pretty good shooter, and one of are most clutch shooters...

And Hawkins didn't wilt under pressure. Jasper was like a deer in headlights down the stretch.

Hey I am quite mad at you. I mean I been saying for the last two months that Jasper probably shouldn't be running the point for us, and that Bradley should. I know Bradley is not a true PG either, but he was a better option this year than Jasper at the point. People said he ran the offense good, but he didn't do anything in the offense to help it...
March 19, 200719 yr As I said in the game thread, Jasper's an intangibles guy but he has absolutely no shot. He can pull down rebounds all day though... Not sure if he's ever going to be a huge scoring threat, but I think he can be a really good player for UK if he develops any sort of consistent shot.
March 19, 200719 yr IMO if Lucas comes here, Jasper definitely needs to be switched to small forward. We would have Lucas, Porter (who probably will be better against the quicker guards next year, after now knowing what he has to work on) And then you still have Bradley. That would be 3 guys who would be capable of running the point. Then having Jasper at the 3 would alow him to be more of a slasher, and be inside more. He still definitely has to find some kind of shot this offseason, but he would be better off at the 3...
