I've seen Crawford run the point, I am not ignoring that he did. You, however, are ignoring the fact that Meeks did it. He did, I promise. I swear to you that if he did not, I will never post on this board again. I know he ran it, because I remember getting excited every time I saw him doing so... If I couldn't tell the difference between Meeks and Crawford's physique, I'm not fit to watch basketball.

Well your right about the bolded apart, it was suppose to be bolded to the end of that paragraph and not stop in the middle. However your right he did have his chance and didn't do so well. And at the time Jasper had been playing good. However as the season went on Bradley got better running the point when he did, and Jasper for some reason started to get worst because of lack of confidence. It was also at that point that Meeks started to help out. So Bradley would have been the best option at the point from probably mid january on...

 

As for Meeks and the pg spot, well it was nice hearing your post on here, you will be missed. When they got into the halfcourt set except for that one game Meeks didn't not run the point. Yeah maybe if we got a offensive rebound and we kicked it back out, he might have been the one who started the offense up again. However when we first got to the half court, it was Crawford who usually set it up when it was them two in the game. I have already watched some of these tapes again, and I just got so mad because it SHOULD have been Meeks and not Crawford. However it was usually always Crawford, and then Crawford would try to force something on his own...Also there shouldn't be much of a comparison here, because well neither Bradley or Meeks are true pgs, however Bradley would be more of a pg than Meeks, and that is the way it should be...Hopefully though we get Lucas, because he would be a true pg and would allow all these guys to play in the positions they should be at...:thumb:

At Vandy Meeks ran the point for most of the 2nd half until cramping up with about 4 minutes to go.

 

Mississippi State is the only game I can recall that Crawford did much pg duty, and that was only because they couldn't keep him out of the lane.

Jasper is a freshman with a lot of potential. He is a good athlete who I think will get better and better defensively. The big thing for him is developing some kind of offensive game. He needs to look to take it strong and finish, develop some sort of midrange game, and an outside shot he can take when hes open.

 

Jury is definitly still out on him.

The Vandy game is the game I was talking about where he did actually play some point. As for the Kansas game, he did what I already said earlier. He was the pg, but he did help break the press. It was him and Bradley pretty much passing back and forth to each other to break the pass, and then sometimes after he got it he would just use his speed to then get it passed half court. But once we got to the half court, he gave it back to bradley and Bradley set things up...Also yesterday when Jasper and Bradley were out with foul trouble, it was crawford who usually started the offense, and well unfortunately finished the offensed, because he would just try to do it all himself...

I agree he has alot of potential, and I think would be better off at the sf spot. Especially if we can get Lucas I would like to see him as the 3. Because as the 3 it would allow him to be more of a slasher, and probably would be better on defense because he wouldn't have to guard smaller quicker guards. Also it would give us a guy inside who can pass. He could be alot like Daniels in 03 at that sf position. Either way though he still has to learn how to shoot and have some confidence...

Does Jasper have a jumper? I have no idea what it looks like, how can you be that afraid to shoot the ball.

UK has had a surplus of guards for THREE YEARS now, and they still can't seem to fill the positions. Everyone harps on the PF issue, but you can't deny that Bobby Perry held his own at the end of the last two seasons. In my opinion, the lack of clearly defined roles in the offensive backcourt is a MUCH bigger issue with UK, and specifically lost them some games.

Bradley doesnt really score when runnning the one, and they need his scoring because they are limited.

Crawford is too streaky at the two and is more suited for the three.

They havent had a point guard since Hawlins left and it is killing them.

Rondo dominated the ball too much.

 

Gosh Bless Bobby Perry, he finally played with confidence on offense again late in the year. Most players would have folded under the constant criticism. He looked like he tried to step up as a leader over the last few weeks but unfortunately over the last two years he has had to play out of position.

Jasper picked UK over Illinois, Memphis and Washington.

How in the world can you complain about Perry's scoring after yesterday?

 

I don't know...maybe I just choose to judge a guy's career as opposed to a handful of NCAA Tournament games a few decent games at the close of his career...
