March 19, 200719 yr I'm sorry, call me biased if you want, but I'm just not impressed with this kid...I've pretty much held my tongue all year long, and IMO, he is not enough of an offensive threat to run the point for UK, and I also don't think he is doing so much on the defensive end to overlook his dismal offensive games...What do you say? I can cetainly see what you mean Deuce but am not giving up on this kid at all. Jasper HAS to finds a shot, better put imo he HAS to gain some confidence. Plenty of work on his shooting in the off season would do him wonders. Imo he has a good release and form but he seems not to sqaure his feet on the shot. Imo there is no doubt this guy can contribute big, he was looking good early in the season and as his confidence in his shooting failed it seemed that it effected other aspects of his game. I really think that it got in his head and that he just needs to work on it and gain confidence. Al McGuire said "the best thing about a freshman is that they become a sophomore ". Unles it is a K. Durant case and then "the worst thing about a freshman is that they go to the NBA  ".
March 19, 200719 yr UK has had a surplus of guards for THREE YEARS now, and they still can't seem to fill the positions. Everyone harps on the PF issue, but you can't deny that Bobby Perry held his own at the end of the last two seasons. In my opinion, the lack of clearly defined roles in the offensive backcourt is a MUCH bigger issue with UK, and specifically lost them some games.
March 19, 200719 yr I don't think his lack of offense would be as big of a deal, if UK had a viable scoring option at the 4-spot (Perry and Thomas just don't cut it), so when Jasper is out there with one of those guys, UK is basically playing 3 on 5 when they have the ball. Insert Patterson (if he's as good as advertised) in place of Perry and Jasper's lack of offense doesn't stand out as much.
March 19, 200719 yr As the season came to a close, Jasper nor Bradley would have been running the point IMO.... PG-Meeks SG-Bradley SF-Crawford PF-Perry C-Morris BTW FC, if, or when, Jai Lucas comes to UK, your man crush is going to have to really compete for a starting spot next year.....If UK wants to be successful there is no way Bradley sniffs action at the point next year.
March 19, 200719 yr More then "No show" Crawford? :sssh: I would agree! He is such a liability when he is out there. It would be different if he brought a Defensive game to the table, but he doesn’t. No not that much.

Not a man crush, I just been trying to point out to alot of you all what you all have failed to see all season. Bradley makes me mad at times as much as the rest of you, but he was the best option for the pg spot THIS YEAR. You all just remember earlier in the year, when he didn't do that good of a job. But you all failed to notice how much better he did as the year went on when he was at the pg spot, and how much better the offense did with him there. When Bradley was at the point we were scoring more than we usually did with Jasper running the point. You keep bringing up Meeks as a guy who ran the point, but he ran the point for maybe 5 minutes all season long. As I said before it was Crawford who always took the ball up court when it was them two in the game. Also for Meeks, you all dont want Bradley at point because he is shoot first, but Meeks is as much shoot first as Bradley. Have you really ever seen Meeks pass the ball when he drives to basket? Meeks also as we seen gets a little out of control when he does drive to the basket and throws the ball hard off the backboard. Meeks has a scorer mindset just like Bradley. As I have said I think you all have just been blinded alot this year, because you all only notice when Bradley screws up at point, but never notice how he did better at point more than he did screwing up as the year went on. There were more pros than cons with Bradley at the point than at the start of the year. As for Jasper there started to be more cons than pros with him at the point as the year went on. Bradley is not a true pg and I would never argue that, but he WAS ARE BEST OPTION FOR THE PG SPOT THIS YEAR!

Insert Patterson (if he's as good as advertised) in place of Perry and Jasper's lack of offense doesn't stand out as much. Have you not watched the last month of basketball for UK? For the last month Perry has been scoring, and besides for Morris he was been one are leading scorers for alot of the games. And well during those games when we had Perry scoring, it sure didn't stop Jasper's lack of offense from standing out...
March 20, 200719 yr Seriously, I'm not crazy... Meeks ran the point a pretty good deal at the end of the season. Him and Crawford look 0 alike, I can tell them apart.
March 20, 200719 yr How in the world can you complain about Perry's scoring after yesterday? Because when alot of my fellow UK fans make up their mind about a UK player and how they dont like them. Then they blind themselves to actually noticing when that player does well. Perry and Bradley have been two guys that people have seemed to made their minds up about, and only notice when they screw up, but never notice when they are doing good. Like Bradley had done a better job at the point as the year went on, but alot of people dont want to admit that and only remember the start of the season. And alot of people just hate Perry because for most of his career he didn't do to well, so they dont want to notice that for the last month he has done pretty well and held his own for us at the 4....
March 20, 200719 yr I didn't think Bradley played very well against Kansas. He was too hit or miss all season long.
March 20, 200719 yr Seriously, I'm not crazy... Meeks ran the point a pretty good deal at the end of the season. Him and Crawford look 0 alike, I can tell them apart. No he did not. For that one game yeah he did, but for the other games it was usually crawford who ran the point in are half court set if we didn't have Bradley or Jasper in. Yeah when teams pressed us it was usually him and Bradley in the back trying to break the press and bring up the ball, and sometimes he would get a pass from Bradley and Meeks then would cross the halfcourt line, but after that he gave it right back to Bradley and Bradley set it up. It was just only that one game where we seen Meeks bring the ball up the court and set up the offense. The other games it was crawford, or it was just meeks helping out to break the press. I just dont get some of your alls thinking behind this, because some of you say you would like to see Meeks at the point however, the reason why alot of people didn't want Bradley at the point was because he had a shoot first mindset. However Meeks is the same way, so I dont get at all why you all say this, because it goes against why you dont want Bradley at the point...
March 20, 200719 yr I didn't think Bradley played very well against Kansas. He was too hit or miss all season long. That is true! However as the year went on Jasper gave us nothing at all, so it was a better idea to have Bradley at the point who could have a day when he is on, and it also got Meeks in the lineup. Also for the Kansas game he didn't score much and only took 6 shots which is not much for him, but he did have 9 assists. Pretty much none of the guards on are teams did good against kansas...

If you say so... I've got all the games recorded so I've got video evidence I can watch at any time to see Meeks playing the point. You can choose to think it was Crawford all the time if you'd like, but it was Meeks a lot... I know and understand all the guards shared the point guard duty all the time, and that includes Meeks. And I have no dog in this fight because the season is over and it's a moot point.. Just saying you are wrong if you don't think Meeks played PG duties at least a couple trips in nearly every game down the stretch of the season. There's no point arguing about who should be playing when the season is over though... Bradley had his chance, and if he's lucky he'll have it again next year to try to right his early season woes. If his performance hadn't suffered so badly, he never would've lost that spot to begin with.

Go ahead and watch the games, and you will see what I said is right...:sssh: Right here proves my point again that alot of you ONLY remember the beginning of the season. But failed to see when he was running the point for UK when Jasper was on the bench as the season went on he did ALOT better of a job. Yeah there were times he still did some STUPID stuff, but as I said he started to have more pros than cons for us at the point as the season went on, and it was the opposite for Jasper...Also for the beginning of the season, as I said in this thread or another thread. You have to remember that this was his first year at actually playing alot. In his first two years when he got into the game he was counted on give the team a spark off the bench, and usually never played more than 15 minutes a game if that much. So to start this year, he was asked to do something different which it does take time to learn, also he had to learn how to play for longer stretches. So it was a learning experience for him as well, and if you go back and watch all those tapes you will also see he got better every game just about when he was at the point...
