March 12, 200719 yr It was either Kellogg or one of the guys on the ESPN crew during bracketology that said Derrick Byars had a good case for Big 12 Player of the Year... I thought it was funny since 1.) He doesn't play in the Big 12 2.) According to the coaches, he WAS the SEC POTY.
March 12, 200719 yr I caught this too and would issue a pass, but I dont think Kellogg works but 1.5 to 2 months a year. He just shows up at March Madness, so he should have everything in order.
March 12, 200719 yr If I was Lofton I'd be satisfied w/ knowing they're trying to atleast talk about what a player and athlete I am. He know's what he meant and that in my mind would give me confidence just the same.
March 12, 200719 yr Everyone makes mistakes. I'd 10:1 rather have Clark Kellogg as color-commentator on games this year in the tournament than Billy Packer.
March 12, 200719 yr Shame on Clark Kellogg for making a mistake. I bet he was doing it on purpose to make the SEC look bad...
March 12, 200719 yr There is probably a real James Lofton, on, like, a Sienna team out there and he is trash talking his buddies right this minute....
March 13, 200719 yr Obviously a mistake, but nothing to get too worked up about. Clark Kellogg is one of the best in the business at what he does! You gotta like the guy! Although he may not be very popular in Knoxville or Maysville right now.
March 13, 200719 yr Tubby can always give him some pointers on handling the Mason County/UT discontents....
March 13, 200719 yr To be human is to error! Clark Kellogg does a fantastic job. Forgive him for his mistake even it is Kentucky's favorite son.
