Wireman, any thoughts on Rowan County not placing any kids on the All Tournament Team? I didn't get to see them play, but am an admirer of Coach Thomas and his schemes and am curious about the All Tourney situation.

 

I wasn't able to attend the championship game and wasn't aware of the all tourney selections. I'm a little suprised that Rowan didn't have anyone chosen. I guess noone stood out enough and they just simply shot horribly against Russell. In order for Rowan to compete in that game they needed to shoot from the outside with some success.

I have to say that this team has far exceeded my expectations. Great job by the coaching staff (except Gambill ). I think it is also important to note the contributions made by Abby Dundin, Lindsey Adkins, Maria Friley and Kelsey Hammond. They really stepped up and contributed.

You're right about that RickyP. All of the girls contributed to this. There were many key plays in the game that were made by the ladies you just mentioned. I remember a couple of baskets to break a Russell run, and some big rebounds down the stretch in particular. This was definetly a team win, had to be to beat Russell.

I am one of those who've made reservations at the crow dinner scheduled for the naysayers. I knew we had talent, but early on I didn't think we could get back to Diddle. I was confident entering Saturday night's game, but that confidence was a long time coming.

 

When one considers the loss of three senior starters (Yates and Spradlin rotated, but each was every bit a starter), it is amazing what Pam, Mark and the entire staff have accomplished.

After last year's fine season, Pam didn't receive the accolades that she earned and deserved. It will be inexcusable and revealing if she is overlooked this year.

 

She is much more that a coach. She does all of the many other tasks that are necessary to be a success as a girls's coach. She is forced to wear many hats and she wears them well.

 

I don't think any other area coach could have led these girls to Bowling Green once, let alone two years in a row.

 

When the Rose Hillers say their prayers, they better add Pam Euton to their list of blessings.

You know, there are actually some people who coach because they want to help kids be the best they can be... not for the personal attention and recognition they might receive for themselves. I believe Pam Euton is in this for the kids, I've seen it day after day, week after week, year after year. :thumb:
