Holmes has nine losses, and according to their supporters has been superior "talent wise" in at least eight of them (Clark County would be the one I might argue), but still found a way to lose those games?? I don't think it's beyond comprehension that NCC could win this one??

Yes Holmes should be the favorite. However...........a beat down? NCC has shown the ability to play well at times although not consistently throughout the year. Kiernan can dominate and IF NCC gets the shooters in the game they have on the bench they can put up some points.

If Kiernan can avoid the "silly" fouls...reaching in on a guard...and save them to bang with Holme's big boys...then NCC has a chance. But the 'Dogs are a big favorite on their home floor....but the 'Breds are a pesky bunch!! Good luck!!

I doubt eight were, how many of those loses can with the suspended players not playing, I know of three and there are probably more, plus the lost to GRC and more than Half of the loses came with out the suspend players.

They also lost to Holy Cross in that time spand.

The big "if" is whether NCC guards can handle Holmes pressure and get the ball inside to Kiernan consistently. NCC is pretty solid defensively and Holmes has had some issues on the offensive side. If the game is close in the fourth quarter will all the weight of the lofty expectations be too much for Holmes to handle?

 

With all of that being said too hard to pick against all of that talent, at least in this round! Holmes wins by 8.....58-50.

Holmes is in the toughest district in the region, if they are in any other district in the ninth, they win it hands down.

You are dead on in that is a really big "If". If NCC had a true point guard they might be the team to beat. Then again if Holmes had a true center they might be unstoppable.

 

Key will be if NCC can get the ball up the floor, get it inside to Kiernan enough that Holmes has to use help and not guard the perimeter, knock down some threes, play their normal tough defense.........they can win this game.

 

On the other hand, struggle to get the ball over half court, rush shots, get in foul trouble, forget to work it inside, and this one could get ugly as Holmes will sprint away.

If holmes doubles down on Keirnan then i dont see him getting double digits in points. I don't think Keirnan will be that successful against the bulldogs mainly b/c Holmes is VERY ATHLETIC and they have gaurds such as Hill and Henderson that can rebound just as well as Keirnan can. I would like to see Holmes press NCC and get into a running game because NCC doesnt go very deep... With that said i think Holmes wins 63-47
