February 26, 200719 yr I wouldnt say that he is not a fan of defense, IMO he just doesnt stress it as much. You guys have my attention!
February 26, 200719 yr Well If the UK fans that is still stuck on Pitino... think D'antoni is the answer, think again. Pitino style: 3 pointers and press, steal, fast breaks. D'antoni style: uptempo offense,Try to outscore you opponents.
February 26, 200719 yr This would be a complete 180 from the style the Cats are playing now and would really energize the program....Does he have the personel to run his system? Not even close, IMO. That 180 would be two years in the making, IMO.
February 26, 200719 yr Does he have the personel to run his system? Not even close, IMO. That 180 would be two years in the making, IMO. That's the sad thing - we already have the personnel to run that system, just noone to realize that we have that personnel.

February 26, 200719 yr If they were to get PP and JL then I believe he could. So the PG that UK is after right now just happens to be the right PG for D'antoni's system, which is HIGHLY specialized? I don't buy it.

No, I'm not saying that but I believe in college you could run that offense without having a PG at the level of Nash. As long as you had a good solid PG then I think you could make it work. Lucas may end up being awlful who knows. But to say they two years away is just as much a coin flip.

Tubby didn't recruit these guys for D'antoni's game. He recruited them to play in the opposite system.

That may be true, but IMO Meeks, Jasper, and Stevenson all look better when they are able to play at a faster pace.

February 26, 200719 yr I think they play well faster, but that they don't fit his system. Name some college players that do fit his system?
February 26, 200719 yr Exactly. So, why are you continuing to argue with everyone? There aren't any Steve Nash's running around the college ranks, so its useless to argue. He can take a group of players and teach them his system and it would be more fun to watch than what we're seeing this season - no matter whose playing.
