Bradley completed the 4 point play during a close game down the stretch and I thought that was the boost they needed to finally close Vandy out.... Just wasn't the case though. The other guys quit on Perryand Meeks... Crawford had the ball in his hands on all 3 shot clock violations if my memory is correct... I could be wrong on that.

I agree that things are not getting better anytime soon. With Morris all but gone, you can count on a 3rd staight 11-15 loss season. Its amazing that Tubby finding that "fax" paper is probably the only reason we weren't on the bubble last year, and out of the tourney this year.

 

Tubby's poor recruiting is finally catching up with him. That and along with the fact the rest of the SEC is getting good in a hurry. The ship is clearly sinking in Lexington (a few of us saw this coming a few years ago), and you know what they say.. "captain goes down with the ship."

Woo has to play more.............his effort has to rub off on some of his teammates. He may be the most underused player at UK in many years.

And for those of you who are so sure that UK is a lock no matter what...The selection committee looks very closely at the last 10 games of the season...UK is currently 4-4 in that stratch, with a real chance of finishing 4-6....

This team just plain lacks "it", they don't have that killer instict. 3 shot clock violations, almost had four. Bradley was a joke down the stretch, along with JC and Randolph. At this point Meeks is the only bright spot down the stretch, I wish we had 5 of him.

A whole lot of 18-20 win teams with a tough final 10 game against similar opponents and better results. Beating UGA should lock it up, but if not they are on a full pack of Big League Chew bubble. Like it or not they look very ordinary based on the numbers used for selection with 2 games left...

Tubby is not the reason they lost. They play sloppy ball and make stupid turnovers. This could be one of the worst UK teams I have seen in a long time. Tubby is as frustrated with the players as the fans. Jai Lucas is a crucial part of the recruiting class. We need a TRUE point guard that is not afraid to shoot. By the way, how did Jasper average over 20ppg in high school? His confidence in his shot must be very low. I have never been this down on a UK team.

 

The same way Wayne Turner averaged close to 40, it's high school.

If they lose to UGA they are in trouble, I honestly feel they won't be in trouble but you never know with this club. A win today would have made things a bit better, now they have to beat UGA, play good against UF, on Sr night, and win a few games in the SEC tourney to to avoid a terrible seed. They do look ordinary, wins over UL, early, and UT w/out Lofton aren't terribly impressive. Listened to Cutler after the game and he said it's all about matchups....Well, they can't win against teams with a powerful inside game, they can't win a game against a good perimeter shooting team...Who can they beat....run of the milll teams.

A loss to UGA would guarantee another loss to UF (which I think will happen anyway), AND a first round SEC loss....If I were making a bracket at that time...I would leave them out, in that they have no real impressive W's especially not in 2007 and they will have finished 3-7 (last 10).

This has got to be the dumbest, laziest, most selfish buch off ballplayers that I have ever seen wear a Kentucky uniform. I exclude the Freshmen from those comments. My frustration is at an all time high.

Agreed. This group is painful to watch. We watched it in a Lexington restaurant today and to the last person (5 in our group) we all said they would find a way to lose. This team can't finish a game.:irked:

We have been told there is four key factors to a dance ticket.

#2. Record in last 10 games

#3. Record vs RPI Top 50

#4. Record vs RPI Top 100

 

In looking at the UK resume I know what I see...

I think another criteria that should be included in those 4 and probably higher in some is the road/neutal record.

Kentucky played fairly well IMO. Played hard defensively and got L O S T defensively many times as well.

 

A team that runs any type of back-screening drills Kentucky. They should hedge under and go over, but set plays like UCLA ran against them early in the season, expose their lack of effort on defending screens...what I saw today was GOOD, very good players in Foster and Byars who were utilizing their screens well and making shots...UK did try to fight through the staggered screen's but they made shots. UK got hung up on some dble-cross screens in which Vandy skipped the ball over the top...gotta make yourself skinny, if you're fighting through those screens and not in an area where you're going to get hedge help. Teams are really starting to double high ball screens, and that's a good adjustment...Kentucky's ball handlers are shaky, usually if they can make it out the trap some pretty good things happen.

 

Vandy has good players. Kentucky fails to execute and commentators are now making statements like, "Kentucky looks like they are confused or uncertain" as to what they want to do...

 

Vandy was mashing them with little flare screens and rear screens with a skip pass.

I think as of today UK is in, but getting to 20 wins is the key.

They have 13 wins versus the RPI top 100.

They have 3 wins versus the top 50 RPI. More than Memphis and the same as Pitt.

They have no bad losses. Which is a loss to a team outside the RPI top 100.
