I think it has to be Byars. Vandy has been riding him pretty much all season. Foster is solid and some other guys have had some games, but Byars is bringing it every game and has gotten a Vandy team into the top 20 teams in the nation, as well as knocking off the number 1 team in the nation. I cant really consider anybody else for this award than him.

Chris Lofton. You can just look at his team's games against Uk, in one without him they were blown out. He comes back and the beat the crud out of Uk. IMO that's what a MVP does, brings the lift to your team. Davis shouldn't even be in this discussion, his team is winning (big games( and playing good without him.

Lofton, Byars and Horford should be the top three.

Where do you think Vandy would be without Byars?

I think we are seeing more of people rooting for Lofton to be player of the year, so they can start another Tubby bashing thread, rather than actually looking at it and seeing what Byars has done for Vandy this year.

I would go with Byars. Its very close between him and Lofton. I just think that Byars has done an amazing job and I would give him the slight edge.

I believe several of the Florida players have basically cancelled each other out because they are so balanced.

Really depends on how they close the season out,the SEC tourney, etc., but Byars and Lofton are neck and neck at this point. When is this voted on,after the regular season?

You also have to look and see that Byars has actually PLAYED all year. Lofton was injured for a couple weeks of the season. I realize its not really C-Lo's fault, but Byars has brought it ALL season long.

Didn't we throw another game away at UT and lose by 5 hardly blowing someone out. I would have to go with Byars he is a complete player.

Derrick Byars-Vanderbilt.

How does Lofton get the nod when he lets his team get blown out by a very weak South Carolina team?
