February 28, 200719 yr Byars from Vandy or Lofton from UT are the 2 leading candidates in my opinion. If anybody from Florida wins POY it should be Horford or maybe Brewer. I like the Byars kid would be my choice, because of the the success that Vandy has had... :ylsuper:

March 1, 200719 yr How does Lofton get the nod when he lets his team get blown out by a very weak South Carolina team? Well he cant guard everyone on the floor, so HE didnt let them get blown out, the team did. Also vandy has been beat by furman!!! APP St.!!! And oh yeah tennessee beat them head to head also. Plus loftons stats are better. Both good players, but lofton still is ahead.

If you look at the numbers Lofton has played better for the season as a whole. But in the SEC alone I believe Byars has played better. Gametime has already shown seasonal numbers, which are in Loftons favor. In the conference it is a different story. Here is conference games only numbers: Lofton 18.9 ppg, 2 rpg, 2 asst per game, fg% 45, 3fg% 37, ft% 80, 0.9 spg Byars 19.1 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 3.5 asst per game, fg% 48, 3fg% 39, FT% 68, 1.5 spg
