February 21, 200719 yr I have always been a Tubby supporter. I think he is a good man who is genuine. I was at my daughters ballgame the other night. I was talking to one of my old high school coaches. Of course the conversation was about UK. He said something to me that makes sense. If a coach isn't careful and they get locked into what they do every year the game of basketball will pass them by. The players are changing, the way the game is played changes and if a coach is unwilling to change it will pass them by. As much as I hate to say it the game may be passing Tubby by.

February 21, 200719 yr Recruiting starting in 08 and on will be much more organized and better because of Sean Finney. He was out on the trail last summer with Tubby before he was even officially named to the staff. I believe Shawn Finney will pay HUGE dividends for this staff. We are getting in EARLY on some recruits now, just like everyone else. Before this year, i feel like we were always showing up late to the party. GT, you are right about ***** commitments late in the spring, they normally are there for a reason. But what about Patterson? I believe he is the exception to the rule and he wants to be genuine in who he chooses and why.
February 21, 200719 yr I believe he is the exception to the rule and he wants to be genuine in who he chooses and why. I don't put him in the group I was talking about. He's narrowed it down and it's very unlikely someone new could even come close to sneaking in. I was talking more about the guys that are wide open this late...

February 21, 200719 yr Weren't we one week ago going through some "UK to the Final Four" talk? Well, i dont know about everyone else, but I am of the belief that it could still happen.
February 21, 200719 yr Well, i dont know about everyone else, but I am of the belief that it could still happen.Everyone who makes the field COULD make it. Right now, though, UK has yet to win a single game against ranked opponents, much less go on a multiple game run against such likely competition. UK is probably looking at a 7-9 seed right now. That means there are no gimmie games in the 1st weekend for them, and at this point, you have to think that UK just doesn't have a 4 game run against solid competition; that's what it would take for them to make the Final Four.

The talent is there.............
February 21, 200719 yr I am glad someone acknowledged UL is not a ranked team UL wasn't ranked when UK played them. A win over Louisville right now would be a signature win for UK... Maybe Barnhart will try to get that game moved back, too.

UK would have to receive the benefit of other teams knocking off good opponents and the bracket opening up. As far as three or so games in a row against top 25 worthy competitors would be a tough battle for this team and would not happen, imo.
February 21, 200719 yr Well, im going to go out on a limb here and say that nobody thought GMU could win 4 in a row last year either. Not saying that UK WILL make it, but they have the talent and the COACHING to do it. I just dont know if our Juniors have the mind-set to do it.
