Galena is 18-9 and ranked 11th in Nevada. Mount St. Joseph is 20-6 and ranked fifth in Maryland, clearly a good team. Arlington Country Day is 15-6 and a pretty solid team, but not as good as they've been the last couple of years.

 

Neither of Scott's wins over the first two teams, by themselves, would merit a national ranking. That's just telling it like it is.

I agree. There is no real way of telling. Especially at the highschool level where kids change so frequently it seems from day to day.

IMO since Coach Hicks came to Scott Co. they have became a force year in and year out in Ky. high school basketball. I know alot of factors are involved in keeping them at a top level, but the man truely works hard at his profession.

You are right - it's an honor that they think the Cards are that good, but the truth is that rankings mean nothing and provide additional motivation for upcoming opponents.

 

Last year my Cards were ranked #1 in the State (in Litkinghous) but Madison Central didn't roll over - and neither will any team this year. STAY FOCUSED CARDS - you have something to prove every time you play!

I dont think any one has to worry about scott county besides other 11 region opponents and sweet sixteen opponents that face them..this is there year

Understand where you are coming from....puts a real big bulls eye on thier back. On the other hand I like a Ky team getting some national pub. Go Cards.:thumb:

Just one point on the post .... Mount St. Joseph is a better team than Arlinington Country Day ........ Lexington Catholic play Arlinington to 62-65 game ....... Just one other point ... KY teams is getting better !!! Scott County can play !!! Ballard can play !!

Evidently even SI knows how difficult it is to win AT Scott County.
