Sports Illustrated has scott county ranked 15th nationally right now. I actually thought they would be higher than that. If they beat huntington high again tomorrow where does this put them in the rankings?? Id say top 8.

You've got to consider the 15-point loss to Arlington Country Day on a neutral court, too. The rematch will tell us whether Scott is "deserving" of a national ranking, like that matters.

A tad frustrating that it took this long to get them a national ranking, if they end up losing to HHS, they might fall back out. Not that it really matters, but would have been nice to have them get noticed a while ago.

Evidently even SI knows how difficult it is to win AT Scott County.

2002 I believe USA Today had Lexington Catholic in the top 15. Otherwise I'd say so unless Mason Co. got ranked in the Lofton years.

Totally agree. Heaven knows I'm not thrilled about Scott County beating my favorite team, but it is nice to see the Commonwealth garner some attention.

Mason was number 11 at the beggining of the 2004 season i think.

Scott County was 6th in 99

Lexington Catholic was 3rd in 98

Scott Co also beat Galena Nevada and Mt St. Joseph on a neutral floor. Both teams had multiple D-1 players.

A lot of teams have multiple D-1 signees ... it doesn't necessarily mean they're a great team or deserving of national attention.

Congratulations to Scott Co. To think that there are only 14 teams in the nation better or rated higher is amazing. I am not saying they aren't deserving of a higher ranking I just think that it is great.
