February 14, 200719 yr UKMustang- Based off the 1st UK v UT game Lofton was the difference maker. Just because you're more familiar with him, IMO. He had a great game, but it's not uncommon for him. The kid's a rare talent and nobody can ever take that away from him. But he was average for his game... Shut down the lane and Kentucky has more than a chance in this one. Teach Jasper to shoot a free throw and the wind might've been out of the UT sails a little sooner.

Yeah Lofton playing this time definitely helped, but as I just said in a previous post Lofton is going to get his because he is just a great player, but the key is containing the other guys and we didn't do that tonight at all...

Not denying that and I agree. However like people have said great players do more on the floor then just score sometimes. Lofton makes the other guys better.

February 14, 200719 yr Plus Lofton garners much more attention...he is a complete difference maker when these two play. Oh I know that, because the team has to focus alot on Lofton, but you have to be able to also find away to contain the other guys or else your not going to beat UT unless you just outscore them and to do that you better be scoring 90 or more....
February 14, 200719 yr Very poor first half performance by the Cats. You can't turn the ball over that many times against a team like Tennessee. The Vols took advantage of every turnover the Cats made. Morris seems lost or not interested at times. Great effort by Crawford on both sides of the ball. Congrats to the Vols and Chris Lofton on the win. Lofton is a Warrior.
February 14, 200719 yr Yeah Lofton made a difference, but the key to the game was the other guys. Lofton is a great player and is going to score, but if you allow the other guys to make alot of plays as well then your trouble. The key to beating UT usually is making sure that the other guys just dont that much, because Lofton is going to get his usually... Lofton makes a huge difference just being out there, remember the game in Lexington. He draws so much attention. When UT guards penetrated they could get into the paint cuz UK wing players couldnt help off of Lofton.
February 14, 200719 yr I hate it everytime we lose to Tennessee in any sport, BUT I have to love it for Chris Lofton and for that matter the kid from Vanderbilt too......Can't believe we don't keep these kids.
February 14, 200719 yr And tonight is why I don't see a deep run in March. No consistency from game to game on either end... This is the first time in years that this can be said for just about every team in the nation. Besides about 4-5 elite teams, any team can go down on any given night. It's been a wild ride, and March is only going to be crazier.

He doesn't score, but he does a lot of little things very well... His rebounding has been key many times. Bobby Perry had his name mentioned a lot in the 1st half over the radio, but it seems like everytime I heard his name it was "Perry with the turnover" or "turnover by Perry"... Sometimes I heard "Perry throws it away" and that was a rare treat... Nice to see them change it up a bit.
