Yes, they have to work their way out of a hole, but the season is only halfway finished. Tons of time to move up the standings.

This is true, but they have to beat teams in the central division and to this date they have not and show no signs that they will.  On top of that, I think you'll see them dumping payroll at the trade deadline.

What payroll can they dump? Would anyone take Suarez? The only other player on the team making more than $10M is Brady Singer. They could probably dump him.

Game this afternoon is currently under a rain delay before it has even started.

Reds leading 2-0 after 2.5 innings after the rain delay.

Pirates answer back in the bottom of the 3rd with a 3-run homer deep to right by Lowe.

Burns gives up another run after a double and then a single to put the Pirates up now 4-2 after 4 innings.

Reds tie it in the top of the 5 on only 1 hit. A walk a balk a wild pitch and a double by Arroyo then another wild pitch and Arroyo scores on an error. It is now 4-4 heading into the bottom of the fifth as the rain has started back.

Reds answer back with in the top of the 6th and take the lead back at 6-4. A big 2 run single by Trevino. The Reds still left the bases loaded as Elly hits into a rare double play to end the inning.

Burns will get a no decision as the Reds bullpen gives up 2 in the bottom of the 7th to tie it back up at 6-6. Burns started the bottom of the 7th and gave up a leadoff double then Moll came in allowed Burns runner to score and then gave up the tying one on him. The Reds go out in order in the top of the 8th.
