Highlands/Beechwood rematch for ship.

Ouch!

Based on the remaining schedules, Highlands and Beechwood have both punched their tickets to the Championship game. Still two tough games left to play for both teams, but existing records and head to head match-ups ensure a rematch of a few weeks ago. You can expect BW to be hungry for payback against the Birds.

Highlands beat Beechwood in the regular season two years ago and then lost to them in the Semis. Yes, it was two years ago, but that game still haunts this Birds team. They'll be looking for a little payback of their own.

I wonder if SK uses the middle school qb at Twenhofel after their season is over? He is a good one.

He is, but not sure he's better than last year's Twenhofel QB, Ethan Hopkins, who is now a freshman at SK and currently the Varsity back-up. Hopkins is a stud. No offense to the 8th grader. I've seen him play and he'll be special, but he's not at Hopkins' level (running and throwing) yet.

These teams and kids are very fortunate that the northern Kentucky area can support a freshman league. Allowing kids to get valuable reps and continuing to develop with game action is a great thing. Thanks for keep us updated Colonels_Wear_Blue.

Hopkins needs to be the back up varsity and play all of the game in JV.

He is/does in addition to playing Freshman games. Very similar to Jaxston Moeves at Highlands (backs up Simon, starts JV and Freshman).

Every JV and Freshman game he only plays about a half.

Yes, same for Moeves. They are only allowed 8 quarters a week so Freshman who play Varsity, JV, and Freshman levels are on a pitch count. The freshman team will always get the majority of quarters so the remainder must be split between JV and Varsity. Pretty typical.
